Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the August 19 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7. The show is brought to you by The Altoona Curve (www.altoonacurve.com), “Everybody’s Hometown Team!”

With no guests in the studio this week, we took the opportunity to get caught up on new local and regional CD's that have arrived at "Backyard Rocker" headquarters in recent weeks. We debuted plentiful new tunes from Ted McCloskey, Vs. the Earth, Blither, the Ultra Kings, Subdue, Codorus Cruise Line, Acalasia, Deja Vudoo, X-Terra, Steel and Anthony Stauffer & Holy Smoke.

Here is this week’s playlist:

HOUR ONE:

LOWJACK - "Runaway"
TED McCLOSKEY - "The Lowest Common Grain of Salt"
VS. THE EARTH - "Lightswitch"
DAVE BLACKLEDGE - "She's Not Bad for an Old Barhag"
BLITHER - "Broken Windows"
WHITE WITCH - "Game That I Play"
THE ULTRA KINGS - "Eyes Like a Cat"
THE MARAUDERS - "Johnny Don't Like It (When You Call Him Elvis)"
SOMERHILL - "Enrapture"
SILVER SUNDAY - "Last Chance Lullaby"
SUBDUE - "Free"

HOUR TWO:

DOLLARZ-N-SENSE - "Southern Woman"
CODORUS CRUISE LINE - "The Schmock Song"
ACALASIA - "Maniac Parade"
SPIRIT LOST - "Burden"
DEJA VUDOO - "Scapegoat"
UNTIL WE RISE - "The Way You Like It"
X-TERRA - "I Will Survive"
STEEL - "Working Class Society"
ANTHONY STAUFFER & HOLY SMOKE - "No Mojo" (live)

Next Sunday, we'll preview the annual Johnstown Folkfest with our special in-studio guest, Ron Carnevali of the Johnstown Area Heritage Association. Ron will give us the full lowdown on this year's Folkfest, which happens on Labor Day Weekend, Aug. 31, Sept. 1 & 2, at Festival Park near downtown Johnstown. Ron will also bring along music from some of the many bands and artists who will perform at this year's Folkfest! Ron Carnevali talks Johnstown Folkfest on the “Backyard Rocker,” next Sunday night!

Forthcoming guests and specials include:

SEPT. 2 - Spirit Lost
SEPT. 9 - Tony Mollick Project
SEPT. 23 - Chapter 5 (tentative)

The "Backyard Rocker" is happy to announce its continued partnership with "The Underground TV," the local/regional music television show airing on WWPC Fox 8 Sunday and Monday mornings at 1 AM. Check out "The Underground" as it features different unsigned local and regional bands every week; and watch for "Backyard Rocker" updates on the show each week as well!
