Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the November 4 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBXQ 94.3. The show is brought to you by The Altoona Curve (www.altoonacurve.com), “Everybody’s Hometown Team!”

Thanks to our guests, Altoona-based melodic hard rockers Acalasia (www.myspace.com/acalasia), for an interesting two hours, and for their patience in dealing with the two hours of chaos that was this week’s show! In what may have well been the final edition of the “Backyard Rocker” to be staged at Q94’s old (current) studio house at 4000 5th Avenue in Altoona, some of the soon-to-be-retired equipment decided to stage a revolt, including the host’s microphone and one of the CD players! But the revolting equipment couldn’t stop us as we got acquainted with the members of Acalasia, learned their story to date, and heard songs from their recently-released debut CD, What Makes You a Maniac?. Several lucky listeners phoned in to win copies of the disc! In addition, Acalasia brought acoustic instruments and played two new songs live on the air. We also updated Local Music News, and debuted new songs from Headplug, Recoil and Flatbed Ford.

Here is this week’s playlist:

HOUR ONE:

THE FLAME SKY – “The Price You Pay”
MY TURNING POINT – “Found My Way”
ACALASIA – “So Much for the Railcar”
RISE PHOENIX RISE – “Boxing Josh”
ACALASIA – “Contradictory”
SPIRIT LOST – “Alone”
ACALASIA – “Objects of My Affection” (performed live on the air)
HEADPLUG – “Beyond Belief”
INSIDE OUT – “Taking My Life”

HOUR TWO:

THE NIGHTCRAWLERS – “African Echo”
JUSTIN MACK – “N.F.A.”
ACALASIA – “There’s No Place Like Home”
RECOIL – “Denial, Anger, Acceptance”
ACALASIA – “Unused”
FLATBED FORD – “Deep Blue”
ACALASIA – “Barely Breathing” (performed live on the air)
ACALASIA – “Based on True Stories”
LIES, INC. – “Hypnotic”

Next Sunday night, our guests via phone will be members of veteran Reading-based hard-rocking force Anthrophobia! Anthrophobia will close the book on an illustrious 20-plus year career later this month with a gala finale show at The Silo in Reading; we’ll learn about that show, plus discuss the band’s career, and hear songs from their latest CD! We’ll also hear from other area bands and artists, and review a new local CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner!” Anthrophobia via phone on the “Backyard Rocker,” next Sunday night!

Forthcoming guests and specials include:

NOV. 18 – Subdue
NOV. 25 – Way Down East
DEC. 2 – Hi-Tyde
DEC. 9 – SongWorks
DEC. 16 – Images Of Eden
DEC. 23 – Christmas Special
DEC. 30 – 2007 Year in Review Special
JAN. 6 – Crow In The Snow
