Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the December 1 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

Thanks to our guests this week, not just for being our in studio guests, but for giving us breaking news about their band to kick off the program. Ben, Nick and Tom; the IUP/Latrobe-based trio Genius Of You; announced at the top of our discussion that the band now has a new name, Silverboy. So we discussed the group's history as Genius Of You, and their new harder direction and future as Silverboy. We heard a number of tracks from the group's latest album as Genius Of You, "Here;" the group played two new songs live and unplugged in the studio, and we closed the show with a new studio track the group recently recorded as Silverboy, "Thank You."

In addition, we premiered a new Christmas holiday song from Kiwi called "Christmastime," debuted a track from Emily's Toybox's new "25/7" CD, and also featured new tracks from Dave Blackledge and Kairos.

This week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

JUSTIN MACKOVYAK - "The Long Lonely Line"
KIWI - "Christmastime"
GENIUS OF YOU (SILVERBOY) - "Wake and Fall"
CHOCO SAM - "Jack Slick"
GENIUS OF YOU (SILVERBOY) - "From a Gun"
SHADOW (5) - "Write A Book"
SILVERBOY - "Wander" (live)
GENIUS OF YOU (SILVERBOY) - "Find The World"
DAVE BLACKLEDGE - "Your Butt's Too Fat to Dance Like That"
EMILY'S TOYBOX - "Angels Falling"

HOUR TWO:

KAIROS - "Intro/Digging Through Sand"
GENIUS OF YOU (SILVERBOY) - "Sunday"
GENIUS OF YOU (SILVERBOY) - "Song for a Hidden Girl"
ASHES TO ASHES - "Bed"
SILVERBOY - "Roman Candle" (live)
SILVERBOY - "Thank You"

This coming Sunday night, December 8, we welcome the return of Pittsburgh power trio Ashes to Ashes to the program. One of Pittsburgh's most prolific bands, Ashes to Ashes recently released their sixth CD, called "Harder Faster." Hear tracks from the new disc, plus listen for your chance to win a copy too! It's always a good time when Ashes to Ashes pays a visit, so check it out this coming Sunday night on the "Backyard Rocker."
