Pennsylvania police departments statewide have started a new wave of crackdowns on aggressive and poor driving habits to reduce accidents. They are on the lookout for drivers doing some of the following driving violations and the police will be handing out tickets.

- Speeding – going faster than the posted speed limit or too fast for weather conditions
- Failure to use turn signals - Not signaling prior to making turns
- Running red lights and stop signs
- Tailgating – following other vehicles too closely
- Making frequent lane changes – making unsafe lane changes or weaving in and out of traffic to get ahead
- Failing to yield the right of way – not allowing other drivers to merge or cutting other drivers off
- Passing improperly – passing on the right, passing on the shoulder of the road, or failing to use turn signals when changing lanes

They have been out and about in Mifflin County too! My one co-worker said when he left last night , they had 3 people pulled over on the bypass, when he came back thru an hour later they had 2 more pulled over, and another Cruiser was sitting bout 1/2 mile down the road!
Funny thing is, it was in the newspaper and here at the radio station we had the story on our newscasts all day long yesterday! Guess some people just never learn!

It's about damn time. If I could pull people over for not using signals, I'd be rich.

I always thought it was a good idea to make people get tested at age 65 and every 5-7 years after.
If you fail the test you lose your license.
Of course people should have the chance to appeal.
This is just an idea. I don't have a plan or all the answers.

I know lots of people under age 65 who should be tested every 5-7 years as well because they are horrible drivers.

Does that mean the answer would be to make everybody take the test every so often instead of just at age 16? I don't have the answer either.
