I've always said that the quest for cash stemmed from the decline in record sales. Welcome to the new world of music...... Music needs protection, but this is going to effect the way artists develop and the quality of the music itself... _________________ Chuck Mason and Blue Reality |

that last article really contains some good points.
Almost everyone in business assumes consumers do have infinite wealth. As we are finding out, you can only borrow your way so far, and it's far short of infinity. |

unreal, 50 songs a night @ $0.50 a song per person is $25 a person, per night. _________________ Stand back, I like to rock out. |

Unfortunately, the concept of developing artists seems to have become obsolete sometime in the 90s...at least at the major label end of things. The era of the fast buck has been around for a while, and it's rare that I hear anything beyond a sophmore album in mainstream music that really sounds like the artist has evolved in sound or songwriting.
I once heard (don't know how true it is) that in Nashville, you need a hit every three months or your ass is out the door. _________________ "He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film. |

the second article summarized my feelings perfectly.
There are people out there who love music for what it is and love to perform. Money isn't the be-all-end-all of music. |
