I suggest taking it to Terry at Guitars N Stuff. He does a fantastic job! And he's a really nice guy, too!

Music shops have more than one customer to take care of. Would you want to go in for strings, and the guy behind the counter says, "Sure, man, we have those, but you'll have to wait until I get this pickup in this guitar."
The other reason for a 3-day wait, is that many shops have a guy who is excellent at electric guitar repairs, and they'd rather have the excellent guy do it, so you're happy with how it turns out. That's a pretty straightforward repair, but sometimes they're kinda weird... I have an electronics background, and still occasionally wire things up crooked and have to go back in and fix it. (Note: I don't do gtr electronics repair at the store where I occasionally work. That's for Eldorado, or Mark Chaplin. I change strings, and easy-peasy stuff. Smile )
3 days may be frustrating, but it's pretty much average. I'd try Metalchurch, he knows his shite.--->JMS

I suggest Barry Steindel. he fixed the wiring nightmare i had in my guitar - check out the pics in the services available under Bardel Pedals. He knows his stuff, does a very nice job, doesnt over charge and can do some sick mods if your interested in that as well.

good luck!

- kayla.

I PM'd you back. I will do it if you like.

This might be one reason you do not want just anybody hacking your expensive guitar.
I am not positive who did this but Shocked Shocked Shocked It proves a point!

http://www.rockpage.net/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=23991&start=16
The wiring was not even desoldered but Cut, Stripped and taped!
So now the pickup wires are cut too short to do a proper wiring job! Doh!
But don't take my word for it look at the pictures in the link above or just ask Kayla.

If you wanted everything done that you asked me to do it is definitely more than a 15 minute job to be sure however 3-4 days is a bit much. As far as Rainbow goes I can only imagine that they may have a good bit of work ahead of yours but you could probably be sure they would do a good job.

I hope that helps anyway regardless.

Thanks,

Barry
