Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the March 7 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

Needless to say, it was a festive show this week, as the “Backyard Rocker” celebrated 6 years on the airwaves with a three-hour special! We featured several highlights from the past year on the show from guest bands and artists performing live on the show. And no “Backyard Rocker” anniversary special would be complete without a visit from Felix & the Hurricanes, the first band to appear as guests on the show after it first started in March 1998. Felix Kos, Jeff Clapper and Bob Watters featured tunes from their recently-released second CD, “Travelers Not Forgotten;” and one lucky listener won an autographed CD and T-shirt! In addition, the Hurricanes performed several brand new songs live on the air, including one that has yet to be titled! We also debuted one new song, from Kevin Giarnella. Thanks to the Hurricanes' guests and friends, including harmonica player John Stevens, “Big Jim” Ricotta for bringing the cake, and honorary Hurricanes roadie Frank Cicciarella for doing the Pepsi run midway through the show! Also thanks to Q94 for allowing local and regional musicians 2 hours every week for their creations to be heard; and thanks to all of our listeners for supporting local music on the airwaves every Sunday night!
