Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the February 25 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

This week, we caught up with our band guests, Altoona-based punk rockers X's For Eyes, during a conversation recorded at McGarvey's in Altoona. We found out the group's latest happenings, plus discussed and played songs from their new CD, Thieves! With X's For Eyes members Tom Noel and Tim Mort on the program, we dug into their past and featured a 2001 tune from Chapter 5 for this week's "Local Music Flashback!" And we reviewed Lady's Delirium of Negation CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

ONE ADAM 12 - "Bulletproof"
PHOBOS ANOMALY - "Skeleton"
X's FOR EYES - "Thieves"
THE WHATLEYS - "History Lesson"
X's FOR EYES - "Left For Dead"
NOBODY'S HEROES - "Freedom and Fear"
X's FOR EYES - "Burn It Down"
CLOSE TO CONSIDERATION - "Puppet of the State"

HOUR TWO:

13 SAINTS - "Evel Kneivel"
BASTARD BEARDED IRISHMEN - "Whiskey, Rum, Bourbon, Beer"
X's FOR EYES - "I Want It Now"
LADY - "Coffins and Crowbars"
X's FOR EYES - "Anxious"
CHAPTER 5 - "Kids Wanna Riot" (2001, Local Music Flashback)
X's FOR EYES - "Anchors"
DEADSIDE - "Street Smarts"

Our next program will be our recap of the 22nd annual Millennium Music Conference, which took place February 22-24 in the Harrisburg area. We will feature sound clips from some of the keynotes and panel discussions, as well as comments from some of the participating musicians. And we will feature plenty of music from some of the nearly 300 different bands and artists who showcased at venues throughout the Harrisburg area during Millennium weekend! We will also review a CD from one of the Millennium participants -
Jake Tavill's Twisted Ideology CD will go under the microscope in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

Upcoming guests and specials include:

MAR. 11 - St. Patrick's Day Special
MAR. 18 - Homegrown Rocker 20th Anniversary Special!
MAR. 25 - Jeannine Higgins (Millennium Music Conference drawing winner)
APR. 8 - The Roof
