Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the May 20 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

This week, our guest was western PA-based singer, songwriter, performer and musical family patriarch Tim Woods! During a conversation recorded over dinner at the legendary Dean's Diner near Blairsville, we learned about Tim's story and musical career, discussed his band endeavors including the Tim Woods Band and Woods Family Band, and heard music from his new album, Human Race. Along the way, we debuted new songs from Jim Donovan & the Sun King Warriors and Jeff Perigo & friends, updated "Local Music News," and dug out a 2006 tune by The Marauders for this week's "Local Music Flashback!"

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

JUKEHOUSE BOMBERS - "Rooster Gets to Crowin'"
NAG CHAMPIONS MYSTERY BAND - "Weary Mind's Eye"
TIM WOODS - "Human Race"
HABATAT - "Fallacy"
TIM WOODS - "Can You Feel It?"
ERIC VAL - "Tragedy"
TIM WOODS - "Trixie"
DAN STONEROOK - "Our Old Town"

HOUR TWO:

FELIX & THE HURRICANES - "Whirlwind"
DEREK WOODS BAND - "Much Better Now"
TIM WOODS - "Every Day"
JIM DONOVAN & THE SUN KING WARRIORS - "Love Is Right"
TIM WOODS - "Take a Minute"
THE MARAUDERS - "We Are The Marauders" (2006, Local Music Flashback)
TIM WOODS - "World Comes Tumbling Down"
JEFF PERIGO & FRIENDS - "Let Billy In"

Since our next program happens on Memorial Day weekend, that means one thing - our annual trek down "Local Music Memory Lane" on our annual Memorial Day Special! We will spotlight past bands and performers of the area music scene for two hours, digging out local music archive gems from the 1990s, 1980s, 1970s and 1960s - including a never-before aired number from 1962! We'll also pay homage to some of the area musicians we have lost over the years. We celebrate local music past on our next program, the annual Memorial Day Special!

Upcoming guests and specials include:

JUNE 10 - Hate Grenade
JUNE 17 - Father's Day Special
JUNE 24 - Behind the Grey
JULY 8 - Cover Song Special
JULY 15 - Psycho Prophecy
JULY 22 - Dylan E. Miller
AUG. 5 - Tukurpa

(All dates are subject to changes as circumstances warrant.)
