Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the August 26 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

This week, we returned to the mailboxes to check out music from new recordings that have arrived in recent days. We debuted new tunes from Bill Ferrell, Chuck Owston, Gary Carl, On The Brink, Gabe Stillman, 13 Saints, The Lampshades, Chris Rattie & the New Rebels and 9 Stitch Method. We also updated "Local Music News," dug a 2001 tune from Pittsburgh's Voodoo Babies from the archive for a "Local Music Flashback," and stepped "Across State Lines" to check out a number from southeastern VA/northeastern NC-based group Bill & Friends!

Here is this week's playlist:

We'll keep it in the mailboxes for our next program as well, to check out more new recordings, and debut more new tunes from local and regional bands and artists! We will also update "Local Music News," dig into the archive for another "Local Music Flashback," step "Across State Lines" to hear a song from an independent band or artist from outside the state, and review Phobos Anomaly's Good Luck of a Giant CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"
