Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the December 9 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

New Christmas season music from the area music scene took the spotlight this week, as we welcomed the return of our guest, John Cimino, to the program. John has been one of the creative forces behind the area Christmas music project Lords a Leaping, which issued three CDs in 2002, 2004 and 2008. After a decade hiatus, Lords a Leaping has reconvened to create some new holiday music, and are recording toward their next album, expected to be issued in time for the 2019 holiday season. John discussed Lords a Leaping and the new music, and shared with us a few unmastered new tracks from the forthcoming album. And with John as our guest, we dug into the archive to feature a 2002 track from John's studio project, Thunderbox, for this week's "Local Music Flashback!" We also debuted new music from David Uosikkinen's In The Pocket and Gary Carl, and reviewed Jeff Fetterman's 9 Miles to Nowhere CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

FELIX & THE HURRICANES - "Keep On Rockin'"
MATT OTIS & THE SOUND - "Give Me Something Real"
LORDS A LEAPING - "Ring It In"
GLORY DAYS - "Time Spent"
LORDS A LEAPING - "What Gets Me"
JACK PYERS & THE SENSATIONAL DOUBLE CLUBS - "Queen Bee"
LORDS A LEAPING - "Sailing Home"
THE CROOKED LINE - "Tied to the Tracks"
DAVID UOSIKKINEN'S IN THE POCKET - "Expressway to Your Heart"

HOUR TWO:

JIMMY ADLER - "Drank Too Much"
JIMMY ADLER & CHARLIE BARATH - "Bad Bad Whiskey"
LORDS A LEAPING - "Reach Me on the Beach"
JEFF FETTERMAN - "Early Grave"
LORDS A LEAPING - "O Holy Night"
THUNDERBOX - "Seven" (2002, Local Music Flashback)
LORDS A LEAPING - "Another Day Closer"
CLARK'S SECRET IDENTITY - "Laughing Stock Nemesis"
GARY CARL - "3 Chords to the Wind"

Our next program will also follow a Christmas theme, as we welcome guest Bo Moore back to the show! Following the success of last year's first compilation, Bo has spearheaded the follow-up album, A Johnstown Christmas Volume II. Bo will give us the lowdown on the new album, and we will debut tracks from the CD, including another holiday song from area musician and NBC "The Voice" finalist Josh Gallagher! Along the way, we will update "Local Music News" and dig a tune from a past area band or artist from the archive for a "Local Music Flashback!"

Upcoming guests and specials include:

DEC. 16 - BO MOORE (A Christmas in Johnstown Vol. II)
DEC. 23 - CHRISTMAS SPECIAL
DEC. 30 - YEAR-END SPECIAL
JAN. 13 - DEADSIDE

(All dates are subject to changes as circumstances warrant.)
