Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the March 10 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

We continued the Millennium Music Conference theme with this week's program, as we spoke with our guest via phone - Cranbury, New Jersey-based singer and songwriter Anker! Anker's Invite Your Demons to Tea CD was the CD drawn from the "Homegrown Rocker" dropbox during last month's 23rd annual Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg, so Anker won an interview and guest appearance on this week's show! We learned about Anker, his career and music, and explored the CD and heard songs from it! Along the way, we debuted a new song by Jelli, updated "Local Music News," dug a 2004 song by Harrisburg's Bridges And A Bottle from the archive for a "Local Music Flashback," stepped "Across State Lines" to hear a tune from New Jersey/New York City's Jake Tavill, and reviewed Jessica Graae's Blue Heart CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

CHRIS RATTIE & THE NEW REBELS - "Heading Into Darkness"
SHINE DELPHI - "Tiny Little Seed"
ANKER - "Sail Away"
ROGER HAMMER - "Allegheny"
ANKER - "Thinking"
JELLI - "Lemon Lime Lament"
ANKER - "Cold Day in Hell"
JAKE TAVILL - "Truth" (Across State Lines)

HOUR TWO:

NATE MYERS - "Porch Light"
D-BO - "Do It"
ANKER - "Cover Your Tracks"
JESSICA GRAAE - "We're Standing Over Heaven"
ANKER - "History"
BRIDGES AND A BOTTLE - "Carousel" (2004, Local Music Flashback)
ANKER - "Invite Your Demons to Tea"
LIZ DE LISE - "Baby Bird"

With St. Patrick's Day 2019 falling on a Sunday this year, it's only logical that our next edition of the "Homegrown Rocker" should be the annual St. Paddy's Day Special! We'll let the local and regional music scene get its Irish up during this week's show, as we showcase bands and songs with a wee bit of Irish in their sound and presentation! Along the way, we will update "Local Music News," dig an Irish-flavored "Local Music Flashback" from the archive, and step "Across State Lines" to hear music from an independent Irish-flavored band or artist from outside the state!

Upcoming guests and specials include:

APR. 7 - THE SNIPPED
APRIL 14 - CHELSEA TAKAMI (MMC Dropbox winner/download card)
APR. 21 - UNPLUGGED NIGHT

(All dates are subject to changes as circumstances warrant.)

Bands and artists wanting to submit news items for "Local Music News" may email their news to homegrownrocker@gmail.com. Indicate "MUSIC NEWS" in the subject heading!

Bands and artists interested in having music aired on the show are invited to send their broadcast-quality recordings to: Magnum Broadcasting, 315 South Atherton Street, State College, PA 16801; ATTN: Jim Price/Homegrown. Or drop the recordings off at the station during regular business hours, Monday-Friday 9 AM to 5 PM. You can also email digital song files or inquiries about the show to homegrownrocker@gmail.com.
