Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the June 16 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

Since it was Father's Day, we presented our annual "Homegrown Rocker" Father's Day Special! We celebrated fathers of the area music scene, but also mothers, sons and daughters! We put the spotlight on area music scene family traditions, and even featured a few tunes with two or more generations of musical family members involved! We featured several tunes from past area bands (as we played parents' past bands alongside their children's projects) for "Local Music Flashbacks," and reviewed Pop Thief's When You Quit, Don't Forget to Leave CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

(Our next program - originally scheduled for June 23 - was to feature our interview with western PA metal rockers Iron Wolf. That show did not air due to the station being off the air while studios and offices were being moved to a new location in Port Matilda. That show was moved back to Sunday, July 7.)
