Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the September 29 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

This week we welcomed band guests on the program, catching up with Johnstown-based bluesmen Black Cat Moan! We chatted with the group moments after they finished performing their set during the previous weekend's Cre814 Fest in downtown Altoona! We met the band members and learned their story, and heard tracks from their newly-released album, Symbols! Along the way, we debuted new songs from Afro N'at and Black Ridge, updated "Local Music News," dug a 2006 number from Altoona's 9 Planet Tour from the archive for a "Local Music Flashback," and reviewed Jeff Webb & the Delectable Sound's Crossroads CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

CHRIS BELL - "Paycheck to Paycheck"
JUKEHOUSE BOMBERS - "Soul Revival"
BLACK CAT MOAN - "Is What It Is"
AFRO N'AT - "The Wind-Up"
BLACK CAT MOAN - "Medicine Man"
BLACK RIDGE - "Blue Collar Blues"
BLACK CAT MOAN - "Lay It Down"
BLACK STAR SUNRISE - "Queen of Misery"

HOUR TWO:

JIM DONOVAN & THE SUN KING WARRIORS - "Ahh Can You Feel It"
JOHN EDWIN PHELPS w/DREW JACKSON - "Time Waits for No Man"
BLACK CAT MOAN - "No One Gonna Love You"
JEFF WEBB & THE DELECTABLE SOUND - "Bad Ass Boots"
BLACK CAT MOAN - "The Veil"
9 PLANET TOUR - "You Got It" (2006, Local Music Flashback)
BLACK CAT MOAN - "Wanna Be Free"

We head back to the mailboxes for our next program! We'll again see what new recordings have arrived and debut new tunes from them! We'll also update "Local Music News," dig a "Local Music Flashback" from the archive, and step "Across State Lines" to hear music from an independent band or artist from outside of PA! Listen to the "Homegrown Rocker," Sunday night (October 6) at 8 p.m. on 105.9 Qwik-Rock on your FM radio dial, or stream it live online at www.1059qwikrock.com!
