Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the December 1 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

This week, we returned to a special we haven't done for a couple of years, the "Fast Forward Special!" We featured song double-shots during the course of the program; the first song of the double-shot was from early in the career of an area band or musician, followed by a more recent song involving that same band or artist! In a few cases, decades separated songs created by the same band, and in other cases, we heard area musicians whose musical direction years ago was remarkably different from what they are doing now! Since half of the program focused on area musicians' past endeavors, there were plenty of "Local Music Flashbacks" during this week's program, plus - as we spotlighted musicians Jason Straw and Greg Hatch - we reviewed Darkness On The Radio's new DOTR II: Snake Eyes CD in "The Professor's CD Corner" (piggybacked with a song from the musicians' past band, The Embalmed)!

Here is this week's playlist (with year of song and spotlighted musicians in parentheses):

HOUR ONE:

THE CLARKS - "Help Me Out" (1988)
THE CLARKS - "She's On Fire" (2018)
SIDESHOW BOB (Ted McCloskey, Daryl Branford) - "Jimmy Oneway" (1996)
TED McCLOSKEY & MOLLY COUNTERMINE - "So Much Later Than Before" (2018)
FELIX & THE HURRICANES - "Way Behind" (Felix Kos, John McKnight, Bill Nusom) (performed live at Raystown Regatta, 1997)
FELIX & THE HURRICANES (Felix Kos, Bob Watters, Jeff Clapper) - "Coming Home to You" (2015)
CUT THE MUSTARD (Skip Fisher) - "Raven Black Hair" (1983)
MFG (Skip Fisher) - "Brighton Girls" (2017)
THIN ICE (Johnny Stevens) - "Hard Time" (1989)
MAMA CORN (Johnny Stevens) - "About a Minute Ago" (2016)
FAYTED (Zac Grace) - "Keep Smilin'" (2006)
ZAC GRACE - "This Is the Day" (2019)

HOUR TWO:

ROADKILL - "The Adam Stomp" (Greg Majewsky, Sean McCracken, Shawn Evans) (2002)

X's FOR EYES (Tim Mort, Tom Noel) - "Burn It Down" (2018)
KEYSTONE ALL-STARS (Rik Golden) - "King of the Highway" (2001)
RIK GOLDEN - "Another Round Comin'" (2019)
INSIDE OUT (Tim Frick, Jason Riek, Dave Cost, Ron Gallucci, Ben Frick) - "Can't Stop A One Way Ride" (1993)
INSIDE OUT (Tim Frick, Kolt Green, Jay Snyder, Larz Phillip, Mark Gindlesperger) - "Giving Myself Away" (2014)
WHISKEY HIGH (Mike Palone, Mike Ekis) - "Stand Tall" (1995)
SKELL (Mike Palone, Mike Ekis) - "Deaf Ears" (2017)

We'll go back to the mailboxes on our next program to check out more recently-arrived recordings from the area music scene, meaning that we will be debuting a number of new tunes during the course of the show. We'll also update "Local Music News," dig a "Local Music Flashback" from the archive, and step "Across State Lines" to hear a song from a band or artist from outside the Keystone State! Listen to the "Homegrown Rocker," Sunday night (December 8) at 8 p.m. on 105.9 Qwik-Rock on your FM radio dial, or stream it live online at www.1059qwikrock.com!
