Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the May 24 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.
We honored the show's annual Memorial Day tradition this week, and presented the annual "Memorial Day Special!" It was our annual journey down "Local Music Memory Lane," as we remembered past bands or artists of the area music scene. We spotlighted area bands and artists from the 1990s, 1980s, 1970s and 1960s, including well-known names and lesser-heralded bands and artists as well! During the last 30 minutes of the program, we paid tribute to some of the performers we have lost along the way, with an emphasis on several area musicians that have passed recently.
