Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the October 11 edition of "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Q94 Classic Rock (94.3 FM) in Altoona and Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via both stations' websites.

Again, we raided the mailboxes this week to explore more new area recordings that have arrived in recent days, and debuted more new music! New tunes from Ted McCloskey, We Came From Space, Summeoyo, Devon Beck, Little Buddy, Crain Bonner, Pensive Fear and A Common Crown all made their "Homegrown Rocker" debuts! We also updated "Local Music News," dug a 1979 tune from Harrisburg's Maxwell from the archive (their Three Mile Island-inspired regional hit song "Radiation Funk") for this week's "Local Music Flashback," stepped "Across State Lines" to hear a new song from Boston's Sunset Kings, and reviewed Donny Burns & the 3rd Degree's Satisfied album in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

AFRO N'AT - "The Wind Up"
DEREK WOODS BAND - "The Question"
TED McCLOSKEY - "This Precious Mess"
WE CAME FROM SPACE - "Easily Led"
THE NE'ER DO WELLS - "Independence Day"
BAD LUCK LOVER BOYS - "All My Thoughts Are Dead"
SUMMEOYO - "Too Perdy to Ignore"
TONY MOLLICK - "Angelic Jam"
YIGGA DIGGA - "Bucket Lyst"
BLOOD UNION - "Lit"
DEVON BECK - "One-Sided Expectations"
ZAC GRACE - "This Is the Day"

HOUR TWO:

NATE MYERS & THE ACES - "Jager & Waffles"
LITTLE BUDDY - "Dynamite Sandwich"
CRAIG BONNER - "The House on the Hill"
DONNY BURNS & THE 3RD DEGREE - "Easier Said"
LENINA CROWNE - "More Feelings"
MAXWELL - "Radiation Funk" (1979, Local Music Flashback)
THE SUNSET KINGS - "Come By" (Across State Lines)
NORMAN NARDINI - "Girl with a Gun"
PENSIVE FEAR - "Behind Enemy Lines"
SCARLET MOON - "Centipede"
A COMMON CROWN - "Blood on the Floor"

As Halloween season arrives, we'll start to get you into the Halloween mindset on our next program, as we welcome our guests via phone, Craig Bonner and Joe Trojcak! Craig has released a Halloween-themed album called Halloween Ball Part One. Craig will tell us about the album and its inspirations, and how he created the album, recorded and engineered by Joe (who also contributes keyboard work) at Joe's Progressive Enterprises Recording Studio in Elizabethtown - and we'll feature tunes and spooky snippets from the album as well! Along the way, we will update "Local Music News," dig a "Local Music Flashback" from the archive, and review Joey Dalto's All For You album in "The Professor's CD Corner!" Hear the "Homegrown Rocker' this Sunday night (October 18) on Q94 Classic Rock (94.3 FM and online at www.q94classicrock.com) and 105.9 Qwik-Rock (105.9 FM and online at www.1059qwikrock.com)!

In Local Music News...

Former “Homegrown Rocker” guest Gordon Tittsworth and his band project Images Of Eden have signed an official recording contract with Pavement Entertainment for the worldwide release of their fifth album, Angel Born. The album is now expected to be released in February of next year.

Bedford-based pop-punk band Bad Luck Lover Boys have added another member and are working on a full-length album. Adam Lingenfelter, who plays trumpet with D.D. & the Pub Crawlers, recently joined the group to play bass. The Bad Luck Lover Boys began recording their new full-length album in late summer, and the album's release is slated for late November or early December, just prior to the group performing at Yinzfest at Mr. Small's Theater in Pittsburgh on December 12. The Bad Luck Lover Boys will be guests on the “Homegrown Rocker” on December 6.

And Altoona-based doom metal adventurers Black Sun have announced a special live-streaming event celebrating the arrival of winter solstice in December. The event will happen on Monday night, December 21st, beginning at 10 p.m.
