Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the December 13 edition of "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Q94 Classic Rock!

For the final time this year, we revisited the mailboxes to catch up on new local and regional recordings that have arrived in recent days! As a result, we debuted lots of new music from the area music scene! We introduced new tunes from the Jeremy Edge Project, We Came From Space, Ted McCloskey, the trio of Bill Dann, Jay Zimmerman and Jack Servello, Brother Jack, The Great Enough, Post Traumatik, Chip & the Charge Ups and Skies of Terra! We also updated "Local Music News," dug a 1999 song by Pittsburgh's Felony in Progress from the archive for this week's "Local Music Flashback," stepped "Across State Lines" to check out a song from Houston, Texas-based electronica duo The Radio Broadcast, and reviewed Jonah Whale's VI album in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

THE JELLYBRICKS - "Father Christmas"
ABOVE THE RADAR - "Uncle John"
THE JEREMY EDGE PROJECT - "Firedancer"
BLACK CAT MOAN - "Wanna Get High (Sahasrara)"

JAE SMITH - "Time Clocks and Tombstones"
BROTHER JACK - "Nostalgic"
COLTT WINTER LEPLEY - "The Bandito"
THE GREAT ENOUGH - "Bowerbirds"

HOUR TWO:

TONY HARLAN - "Jingle This Too"
BLOOD UNION - "A World Apart"
POST TRAUMATIK - "Running Wild"
JONAH WHALE - "Aliens in Hollywood"
CHIP & THE CHARGE UPS feat. CHAR FIELDS - "Under the Exit Sign"
FELONY IN PROGRESS - "Rock and Roll in Your Face" (1999, Local Music Flashback)
THE RADIO BROADCAST - "2Young 2Die" (Across State Lines)
ISHKONN - "Meltsea"
KING CATFISH - "Neptune Street"
THE WHATLEYS - "No More Holidays"
SKIES OF TERRA - "Worlds Collide (When the Party's Over)"

Our next program will be the 2020 installment of the annual "Homegrown Rocker" Christmas Special! Listen as members of the local and regional music scenes celebrate Christmas in their own unique musical ways! We'll hear area bands and artists perform their own Christmas-themed original songs, as well as their distinctive takes on time-tested holiday classics! We'll hear lots of new Christmas song entries this year, and tunes spanning a number of flavors - from rock to blues to country to metal to folk and more - even a local Christmas polka! So heat up the hot cocoa, break out the eggnog and cookies and trim the Christmas tree to the "Homegrown Rocker" Christmas Special! In Local Music News...

COVID-19 restrictions have again impacted the state’s live music scene. Imposed by Governor Tom Wolf and the Pennsylvania Department of Health to curb the spread of COVID-19 within the state, in-person businesses in the entertainment industry " such as concert venues, theaters, private clubs and similar situations " are prohibited from operation from Saturday, December 12 until at least January 4. The new restrictions also suspended in-person indoor dining at bars, restaurants, breweries, wineries, distilleries, social clubs and private catered events during this same time period.

Ted McCloskey has issued another new album, this time a collection of remixed and remastered songs from his back catalog called Whispers and Waltzes. The album features songs that Ted originally recorded from 2001 to 2018, all remixed, remastered and updated. The album is available for purchase through Ted’s Bandcamp page.

Matt Otis & the Sound are in the mixing stages of their brand new album, which will be released in 2021. Matt plans to release a single song from the album online shortly.
