Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the September 5 edition of "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Q94 Classic Rock!

For Labor Day Weekend, we decided to give the singers and vocalists the week off on the "Homegrown Rocker" as we presented the "Instruments Do the Talking" Special! We spotlighted all instrumental tracks from the local and regional music scene (well, almost - your show host confused Full Kilt song titles and accidentally played one of their vocal numbers), mixing a variety of musical styles along the way! We also spoke via phone with Mike Hype of the band Even The Odds; Mike filled us in on details for the 2nd annual "Homegrown Music Festival," taking place at Lorain Borough Park in Johnstown on September 11! In addition, we dug into the archive for a 2005 instrumental rocker by Wide Open for this week's "Local Music Flashback," and reviewed The Arts' all-instrumental album Numerology in "The Professor's CD Corner!" (For those who missed the program, a four-part podcast of this show is available for listening or download from Q94's website, www.q94classicrock.com. Click on "The Professor's Classroom," and then scroll down to "Homegrown Rocker Podcast" and look for the four show segments marked with the date, 090521.)

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

FELIX & THE HURRICANES - "Travelers Not Forgotten"
LITTLE BUDDY - "Dynamite Sandwich"
ANDY MOWATT'S FREQUENCY MOVEMENT (AMFM) - "Booth Yazz"
AFRO N'AT - "Remedo"
FULL KILT - "Picking Up Tunes for Lannigan's Ball"
DYLAN MILLER - "I Cried"
BLACK CAT MOAN - "Hula Blues"
CHARLIE BARATH - "Mississippi Bound"
BRADY NOVOTNY - "Ancient Romance"
DREW BENTLEY - "Carpe Diem"

HOUR TWO:

WINE OF NAILS - "Vibeland"
GELATINOUS CUBE - "Night Train to Shymkent"
THE INNER URGE - "Zakuska"
THE ARTS - "Cast the First Stone"
JOHN HAHN - "Fuel Injection"
WIDE OPEN - "Eat My Dust" (2005, Local Music Flashback)
TED McCLOSKEY - "Violent Wilde"
MEMORY COLLECTOR - "Unsolved Mysteries"
STERLING KOCH & FREEWAY JAM - "Orange Crush"
DON HUGHES - "The First Confrontation"
BILL FERRELL - "Fast Train to Hell"

We return to the mailboxes for our next program, and check out new recordings that have arrived from the area music scene in recent days! We'll debut new songs from such artists as Bree Gearhart, Dilemma, Beauty Slap, Zach Wade & the Good Grief and more! In addition, we will update "Local Music News," dig into the archive for an instrumental "Local Music Flashback," step "Across State Lines" to explore music from an independent band or artist from outside PA, and review A.D. 2020's Lockdown Diaries album in "The Professor's CD Corner!" Hear the "Homegrown Rocker" this Sunday night (September 5) on Q94 Classic Rock - 94.3 FM and online at www.q94classicrock.com!

Upcoming guests and specials:

SEPT. 19 - TONY MOLLICK
SEPT. 26 - THE AUSTENS
OCT. 31 - HALLOWEEN SPECIAL
NOV. 28 - LOCAL MUSIC THANKSGIVING DINNER SPECIAL (area tunes about food and drink)
