Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the February 26 edition of "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Q94 Classic Rock (www.q94classicrock.com), and from 10 PM to midnight on 107.1 and 101.3 Jack FM (www.1071jack.fm)!

This week we spoke with our guest, Jeremy Edge, via phone! The guitarist for national recording group Candlelight Red, and former guitarist for Backstreet Law and Til December, Jeremy told us about his current venture, The Jeremy Edge Project! We discussed the group, their live show, and the creation of the brand new twin-album set Saints and Souls Vol. 1 & 2 - plus played songs from the new albums! And since Jeremy was our guest, we had to break out something from Jeremy's past for our "Local Music Flashback," digging into the Backstreet Law discography for a 2005 number! We also debuted new songs from Hunter Root, Dave Nagle, The Badlees and StoneMan; plus updated "Local Music News!" (For those who missed the program, a four-part podcast of this show is available for listening or download from Q94's website, www.q94classicrock.com. Click on "The Professor's Classroom," and then scroll down to "Homegrown Rocker Podcast" and look for the four show segments marked with the date, 022623.)

In Local Music News...

We first report tragic news from the Johnstown area with the death of a prominent music venue owner from an apparent homicide. According to WJAC News, Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees announced on Friday that authorities are investigating the death of Lance Ross, the owner of the Freight Station restaurant and music venue in Johnstown. The report said that police were called to the venue on Monday morning to investigate a fall injury, and that Ross was found inside the establishment and transported to the hospital where he died. He was 65. After subsequent investigation, Lees said that Ross suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries as a result of a "violent assault" and his death has been ruled a homicide. Johnstown Police and the Cambria County District Attorney's office are continuing to investigate Ross' death, and are asking for the public's help with any additional information regarding the situation.

And area musician Ryan Clark has announced the start of his new band, called Coverfire. According to Ryan, the former guitarist for Toddo and Jampact, the new band will perform 90s-era hard rock from Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Fozzy, newer Ozzy Osbourne and more. Coverfire has recently played some shows in southeastern Pennsylvania.

That's a look at “Local Music News.” Bands and artists with news items to report on the program may email their information to homegrownrocker@gmail.com.
