ROCKPAGE JAM 3: PHOTO RECAP

ROCKPAGE BENEFIT JAM 3 @ PETER C’S, ALTOONA 1/27/05

It was time once again for Rockpage members to step out from behind their computer keyboards, step onstage and jam! With the Felix & the Hurricanes taking a rare Thursday night off (lead ‘Cane Felix was out of town), Rockpage Jam 3 took place at Peter C’s. By my count, some 29 different musicians took the stage in bands and jam sessions, making for another fun night of music and community! Thanks to all the musicians who took part; all the Rockpagers who attended; “Hurricane” Bob for organizing the jam; Big John, Jodie K and the Peter C’s staff; and all the fans who attended!

I’ll have a more detailed recap of the event in a few weeks, but for the moment, here is a photo recap of Rockpage Jam 3. I used the musicians’ Rockpage monickers in the captions, as this was also a night of Rockpagers meeting fellow Rockpagers, and discovering the faces behind the posts! Enjoy!

Gypsy & the Crazymoon kick off the festivities.

Gypsy of Gypsy & the Crazymoon.

After Gypsy & the Crazymoon finished, “Robthedrummer” and “ToonaRockGuy” provide some drum dueling fun and excitement.

“Robthedrummer” and “ToonaRockGuy,” continuing to get their groove on.

A new band makes their debut onstage at the Rockpage Jam…Opposition.

The Iceman, in his first lead singing role, with Opposition. The Iceman cometh and conquereth!

The Iceman and Phil Wagner of Opposition.

Next on the Rockpage Jam bill, young Altoona rockers Dropout High.

Once again, Dropout High.

At this point, “Hurricane” Bob announced the 30 top posters on Rockpage. Next to yours truly, “Songsmith” was the top poster, and was awarded with a special computer keyboard – with the keys J, M, and S missing. Here “Songsmith” poses with his prize.

Another jam begins, with “Hurricane” Bob, Troy “tshovel” Earnest, Dan Martino, “Robthedrummer” and Phil Wagner.

Peter C’s Mary hams it up for the camera as the jam continues.

Girls just want to have fun at the Rockpage Benefit Jam.

With Scott and Dave Russell joining Dan and Phil onstage, a Broken Neck reunion breaks out, with performances of “The Gat Song” and “Drive By.”

More Broken Neck jamming continues.

Once again, Broken Neck.

Helping Broken Neck with some Rage Against the Machine, “Robthedrummer,” now the In drummer.

After some platooning of musicians off and onstage, the jam resumes. Left to right is “hitman18” on drums (said to be a local consultant to Hair Force One, I couldn’t confirm that), “bassist_25,” “Brian of the Clan Plush,” Ed “getclosertothemusic” Murvine and Phil Wagner.

The jam continues.

“Brian of the Clan Plush,” representing at the Rockpage Jam.

The Rockpager rhythm section of “hitman18” and “bassist_25.”

“Robthedrummer” steps in to assist on vocals during Alice In Chains’ “Man in the Box.”

The Iceman and Peter C’s Mary take in the festivities.

The Iceman and Bill Fischer, providing some ‘Opposition’ to the Rockpage Jam.

Rich Piccerillo joins in the jam.

Jeffrey Peachey (Gypsy & the Crazymoon bassist), yours truly and Bill Fischer (Opposition), having fun at the Rockpage Jam.

The jams continue, with Gypsy (minus the Crazymoon), Phil Wagner and Paul Rainey.

More Rockpage jammage, with “bassist_25” and “Songsmith;” “the herald” is looking over “bassist’s” shoulder.

Gypsy, “Songsmith” and Hurricanes bassist Jeff Clapper keep the music coming.

In one of the evening’s surprises, special guest Lauren fronts the musicians on a version of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man.” This lady has a voice! She said she’s interested in singing for a band, so any bands interested in a frontlady with some powerful pipes, give Lauren a listen!

Bill Nusom and Phil Wagner convene some Banditos festivities on the Peter C’s stage.

From Pennsylvania Dutch country, special guest Chakey “Mo Lester” Stolzfus (left) joins the Banditos jam.

The Banditos jam continues.

More Rockpage jamming…

“ToonaRockGuy” and "tshovel" join in the festivities during the double-shot of Grand Funk Railroad’s “Some Kind of Wonderful” into Uriah Heep’s “Stealin.’”

The Rockpage Jam enters its homestretch.

The musicians and crowd get rowdy during the final song of the night, Judas Priest’s “You’ve Got Another Thing Coming.”

The party continues on the stage and dance floor.

The final moments…

At the conclusion of the Rockpage Jam, "Hurricane" thanks the musicians and crowd, and is about to make a presentation.

"Hurricane" beckons for "Ron" the Rockpage Webmaster to approach the stage.

"Hurricane" presents "Ron" with the night’s proceeds, which will fund the addition of streaming audio to Rockpage in the very near future.

One more time, some ‘Opposition.’
