Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the May 22 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

Thanks to our guests, Shades Of June, for an entertaining and fun two hours. We got acquainted with the current edition of the group and their career to date, and heard songs from the group’s recently-recorded demo. The group also brought instruments and performed two songs live on the air. Along the way, we qualified a lucky listener to have a shot at winning Q94’s Harley Fat Boy, we checked on Local Music News, and we reviewed Wiskerbisket’s new CD, “Something New,” in The Professor’s CD Corner.” We also debuted new songs from Third Standard, Shame and Red Room.

Here is this week’s playlist:

HOUR ONE:

MATT WAGNER – “Cycle”
DUSTIN BURLEY – “Broken Mirror”
SHADES OF JUNE – “Reflection”
DROPOUT HIGH – “Until We Meet Again”
SHADES OF JUNE – “Be Anything”
KATSU – “Down the Line”
THIRD STANDARD – “Enemy”
VS. THE EARTH – “Friend Zone”
SHAME – “So Alive”

HOUR TWO:

SILVER SUNDAY – “I Know”
MR. PINK – “Better Day”
SHADES OF JUNE – “Awake” (performed live on the air)
SHADES OF JUNE – “Saturday in January”
WISKERBISKET – “Free”
SHADES OF JUNE – “Diehl’s Song” (performed live on the air)
RED ROOM – “What I Need”

This coming Sunday night, it’s the annual “Backyard Rocker” Memorial Day Special! That means three hours of local music memories, as we break out tunes from bands and artists who used to grace area stages. We’ll hear from names of local music past like The Front, Sidewalk Romeo, Fantasy Airlift, Cut The Mustard, Tommi-Gunn and much more! And we’ll also spend part of the program commemorating the area musicians we have lost along the way.
