Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the March 16 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

Band guests bearing hot wings are always welcome on the program, so Clearfield's Busted Monkey set the stage for a fun program by bringing along some Clearfield wings for me to munch on (thanks!). Along the way, we learned about Busted Monkey, heard tunes from their two CD's, "What The Hell?" and "Monkey Business," and we heard the group perform two songs live in the studio. The group made "Backyard Rocker" history with their second live song, becoming the first band on the program ever to cover another local band live when they did Roadkill's "Lost In The Woods." Several lucky listeners won copies of both of Busted Monkey's CD's. In addition, we debuted new music from The Juliana Theory (one of the latest Pennsylvania bands to land a major record deal; this Greensburg-based band's debut CD was released last month by Epic Records); and to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day, we started and ended the show with Irish drinking tunes courtesy of area Irish music favorites The Michael O'Brian Band. In all, it was an interesting and entertaining two hours.

This week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

MICHAEL O’BRIAN BAND – “Whiskey In The Jar”
THE MARAUDERS – “She’s A Prostitute”
BUSTED MONKEY – “Kicked In The Head Blues”
ELECTRIC BLUE – “Feline Queen”
BUSTED MONKEY – “Take It Slow”
RAGHOUSE – “Disembodied Symphony”
BUSTED MONKEY – “I Was with Your Sister”
ROADKILL – “RK2K2”
THE JULIANA THEORY – “Bring It Low”

HOUR TWO:

NEVERMOURE – “I Say I Know”
BLEECH – “Since You’ve Been Gone”
BUSTED MONKEY – “Destiny” (live)
BUSTED MONKEY – “I Know (What Love Can Do)”
ELECTRIC CANDY SHOP – “Fallen”
BUSTED MONKEY – “Lost In The Woods” (live)
BUSTED MONKEY – “Life’s Tragedies”
MICHAEL O’BRIAN BAND – “The Unicorn Song”

This Sunday night, we welcome the return of Tyrone blues-rock trio Electric Blue. This group has expanded their style and repertoire since their first appearance on the show; we'll hear new recorded songs from the group, plus Electric Blue will perform some songs live for us as well. Electric Blue returns to the "Backyard Rocker," this Sunday night!
