Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the July 31 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

Thanks to our guest this week, Jim Speese, the singer, guitarist, songwriter, author, professor, and Pink Floyd expert of the Reading-based rock band Cloud Party. We spoke with Jim about all those hats he wears, but focused the conversation on his latest exploits with Cloud Party. We heard tracks from Cloud Party’s new CD, “Praying For Rain;” and several lucky listeners called in and won their own copies of the CD. In addition, we also gave away a pair of tickets to The Underground TV’s “Music to the Masses” concert, which takes place in Titusville on Sept. 24. We updated Local Music News, and debuted new songs from Supawide and Searching For Gladys.

Here is this week’s playlist:

HOUR ONE:

THE NIGHTCRAWLERS – “African Echo”
TED McCLOSKEY – “Looking Good in the Coffin”
CLOUD PARTY – “Tears”
INFUSED – “Who Stole the Sun”
CLOUD PARTY – “Waiting to Be Beautiful”

CLOUD PARTY – “Praying For Rain (Part Two)”

Next Sunday night, we’ll explore the sibling connections of the local music scene on our first ever “Brothers and Sisters of Local Music Special.” We’ll check out some of the various brothers and sisters who perform on the regional music scene, both together in the same band or in separate bands.
