Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the September 9 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7. The show is brought to you by The Altoona Curve (www.altoonacurve.com), “Everybody’s Hometown Team!”

Thanks to our guests this week, Pittsburgh area rockers the Tony Mollick Project (TMP). Group namesake Tony Mollick has been through a lot since his last visit on the program two summers ago. Last June, Tony nearly lost his life in a serious motorcycle-car accident, and spent the better part of the next year recovering from his injuries. Tony told his story, as well as how his bandmates, bassist Fuzz McGirk and drummer David Blake, kept the group going in their leader's absence. We heard two new tunes from Tony, including a song from his upcoming solo cover song album and a new TMP song; we also heard other TMP songs, plus dug into the archives to flash back to Tony's two previous projects, The Groove Junkies and One Night Stand. We also debuted new tunes from Jenny Drummey and the Small Band, Jimmy Adler and Bill Deasy. It was a fun and entertaining two hours!

Here is this week’s playlist:

HOUR ONE:

LIES, INC. - ""Hypnotic"
SPIRIT LOST - "Pieces of a Stained Glass Mind"
TONY MOLLICK PROJECT - "Rusty Angel"
FELIX & THE HURRICANES - "Walking A Straight Line"
TONY MOLLICK PROJECT - "Yesterdaze"
GROOVE JUNKIES - "Justice" (1997, Local Music Flashback)
TONY MOLLICK PROJECT - "Forget About Me"
WHITE WITCH - "Rawhead Rex"
JENNY DRUMMEY AND THE SMALL BAND - "No Man's Land"
JIMMY ADLER - "Drivin' My Cadillac"

HOUR TWO:

THE CLARKS - "Hell on Wheels" (live)
BILL DEASY - "Blue Highways"
TONY MOLLICK PROJECT - "Likely Story"
INSIDE OUT - "Taking My Life"
TONY MOLLICK/SHELLY DOUGLAS - "Straight On"
ONE NIGHT STAND - "Cool 6" (1990, Local Music Flashback)
TONY MOLLICK PROJECT - "Little Stingray"
GROOVE JUNKIES - "Steelers Fight Song"

Next Sunday, we have no guests scheduled in the studio, so we will spend the program getting caught up on new local and regional CD releases that have arrived at "Backyard Rocker" headquarters in recent weeks. We'll also update Local Music News, and review a new local CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!" Maximum local and regional music, next Sunday night on the "Backyard Rocker!"

Forthcoming guests and specials include:

SEPT. 30 - The Alluminati
OCT. 7 - Justin Mack
OCT. 14 - Acoustic Jam Special 8
