Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the November 25 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBXQ 94.3. The show is brought to you by The Altoona Curve (www.altoonacurve.com), “Everybody’s Hometown Team!”

It was a bit of a wild and wacky week on the “Backyard Rocker” as the show host continued to get accustomed to the new studio set-up and dealing with a separate interview studio. Thanks to the Grimm for a wildly psychedelic intro to the show (actually, their first CD did some unexpected phasing tricks in the computer playback deck we were using; bizarre)! After the wild and wooly start, though, things settled down as we got down to business with our in-studio guests, Fulton County rockers Way Down East. We got caught up on Way Down East happenings, and heard numerous tracks from the group’s new CD, Summon the Sea Hag. We attempted to give away several copies of the CD, along with the group’s T-shirts, on the air, but a phone line glitch prevented callers from getting through. Oh, the growing pains of setting up shop in a new building!

In addition, we debuted new songs from Hi-Tyde, Funny Money, Naked Beggars and Clashing Plaid; and we debuted a special song from Infused. After Infused drummer Ed Longo lost his battle with cancer last December, remaining members of Infused finished and recorded two songs that Ed had written the lyrics for; with Ed’s son, Ed Jr., playing drums. “Manipulate Time” was selected for this week’s program, as Ed had wanted to play together with his son on that song.

And we reviewed Turning Point’s CD, Let Your Money Come Down, in “The Professor’s CD Corner.” (The review can be read in the “Backyard Rocker” section of the message board area on Q94’s website, www.wbxq.com.)

Here is this week’s playlist:

HOUR ONE:

LIES, INC. – “Don’t Blink”
WAY DOWN EAST – “Summon the Sea Hag”
HEADPLUG – “Beyond Belief”
WAY DOWN EAST – “Hillbilly Rock n Roll”
HI-TYDE – “Turn Back Time”
WAY DOWN EAST – “My Home”
ROADKILL – “Santa Claus Is a Big Fat Jerk”
INFUSED – “Manipulate Time”

HOUR TWO:

FUNNY MONEY – “Hot On Your Heels”
NAKED BEGGARS – “Spit It Out”
WAY DOWN EAST – “Jager Shots for Par”
TURNING POINT – “Two Minute Warning”
WAY DOWN EAST – “Freezer Champ”
CLASHING PLAID – “Waiting for the Wrecker”
WAY DOWN EAST – “Caught in the Crosshairs”
ANTHROPHOBIA – “One Last Warning”
WAY DOWN EAST – “Law of the Land”

Next Sunday night, our guests in the studio will be Cambria County rockers Hi-Tyde! We’ll find out the latest happenings with the group, plus hear recently recorded songs by Hi-Tyde. We’ll also update Local Music News, debut new songs from local and regional bands and artists, and more! Listen as Hi-Tyde joins us in studio on the “Backyard Rocker,” next Sunday night!

Forthcoming guests and specials include:
