Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the August 1 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

Thanks to our guests this week, Matt, Bill and Jason of Cambria County-based heavy rockers Ever Since Yesterday. We got acquainted with the band and their career to date, heard tunes from their forthcoming CD, expected out before year’s end; and the group brought guitars and played two unplugged songs live on the air for us as well. We also debuted numerous new songs this week from Backstreet Law, Copper Seven, Infused, Skell, Uncle Travelling Matt, Hyphema and Inner-G.

Here is this week’s playlist:

HOUR ONE:

THE GRIMM – “Enough”
BACKSTREET LAW – “Right Here Right Now”
EVER SINCE YESTERDAY – “Shiver”
COPPER SEVEN – “Break”
EVER SINCE YESTERDAY – “Without You”
INFUSED – “Who Stole the Sun”
EVER SINCE YESTERDAY – “Gone for Awhile” (performed live on air)
SKELL – “Don’t Speak”
PIVOT – “The Split”

HOUR TWO:

POKER FACE – “Kontrol”
SPINEBELT – “Lotus Under Glass”
EVER SINCE YESTERDAY – “Prosecution”
UNCLE TRAVELLING MATT – “Burning City”
EVER SINCE YESTERDAY – “Leech”
DEVIANCE – “Confession”
EVER SINCE YESTERDAY – “World of Hope” (performed live on air)
HYPHEMA – “Winter”
INNER-G – “Feel the Same”

This Sunday night, in conjunction with Q94’s “Classic Cover Weekend” (where we feature classic rock performers covering other people’s tunes), we’ll carry over the weekend theme to the “Backyard Rocker” with the “Cover Song Special.” We’ll hear area bands and musicians offering their takes on other people’s music – including remakes of songs from Black Sabbath, INXS, LeBouche, Johnny Cash, Madonna, Abba and much more! It promises to be an interesting two hours! The “Cover Song Special,” this Sunday night on the “Backyard Rocker!”

Other forthcoming guests and specials include:

AUG. 15 – Soundrive
AUG. 22 – Guitar Heroes of Local Rock Special
SEPT. 12 – Vs. The Earth
SEPT. 19 – White Witch
OCT. 3 – Acoustic Jam Special
NOV. 7 – Michael Reich
DEC. 12 – Fat Vinny & the Wiseguys

Listen soon for a major announcement, as the “Backyard Rocker” gets ready to partner with another new force that will promote local and regional music starting this fall!

In band personnel moves…Bassist Bill Fischer has parted ways with the Altoona-based band Infused. No word yet as to possible replacements.
