Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the March 9 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

We thank our guests, Altoona-based hardcore punk veterans Chapter 5, for an interesting and hard-rocking edition of the "Backyard Rocker." We heard numerous tracks from Chapter 5's forthcoming third CD, "Anger Stress Management," expected out before the end of the month. We also spoke with the band about their music, live show, fans and the area music scene.

We also discussed the Blair County Collective, a new association of area bands and musicians banding together to address issues concerning the area music community. One of the biggest issues being addressed currently is the "chaperone amendment" recently added to the state's Liquor Code, which reduces the amount of minors an over-25 supervisor/chaperone can oversee from 50 to 5. This new amendment seriously impacts all ages concerts, and threatens to thwart national bands and artists from performing in Pennsylvania - particularly if their core fan base is under 21. Petitions and other actions are being discussed by the Blair County Collective; if you are interested in learning more about this association, log on to their web site, www.bccollective.com.

And we also premiered new songs from Skell, Suicide Switch and Deviance.

This week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

DRIVEN – “Chaos & Rock’n’Roll”
JUDGEMENT – “Autopilot”
CHAPTER 5 – “Normal Life”
SKELL – “Betrayal”
CHAPTER 5 – “Liberty Eyes”
BROKEN NECK – “Death Polka”
CHAPTER 5 – “Changed”
SUICIDE SWITCH – “Truth”
DEVIANCE – “Save Me”

HOUR TWO:

THE GRIMM – “Suicide Knob”
SPINEBELT – “Losing All”
CHAPTER 5 – “Blaming You”
THE MARAUDERS – “New Tattoo”
CHAPTER 5 – “T.S.F.”
VERTIGO – “Heard The News”
CHAPTER 5 – “Blood & Guts”
EVEN AS WE SPEAK – “Back From Ten”
CHAPTER 5 – “This Time”

This Sunday night, our guests in the studio will be Clearfield-based rockers Busted Monkey. We'll meet and become acquainted with the band members, discuss their music and live show, and hear songs from their two CD's, "Monkey Business" and "What The Hell?" Busted Monkey on the "Backyard Rocker," this Sunday night!

Other forthcoming guests and specials include:
