As many of you know, I have, for several years now, been passing out Snickers bars at our shows as a courtesy to our devoted fans.
However, since February 4, 2007 — the night of Super Bowl XLI — I have ceased the distribution of said candy treat, due primarily to the GAY commercial that aired during the big game. For the benefit of those of you who have not seen it, it featured two men working under the hood of a car ...
... and culminated in a "Lady and the Tramp" moment where the men, each eating from a different end of the Snickers bar, end up in a lip lock.
F'ING GAY.
This is where I need your help. We need a new candy bar. I refuse to support a candy bar linked to such gayness (not that there's anything wrong with that). I believe I've narrowed it down to either TWIX ...
... or KIT KAT ...
trying to target a bar that most people like. Or is there a better choice?
We are interested in your thoughts. Please share.
I love Snickers bars. I've loved them since before I can remember. But I can't be a party to this nonsense. I just keep seeing those two slobbering all over each other and it makes me wanna hurl.
Thank you for your time with regard to this pressing issue.

I wound up voting for M&M's...In the field, when I'm using a pen and paper, plus manipulating a camera, M&M's aren't as messy or smeary.
I would have voted for Hershey, but since the story broke that they are moving some of their jobs into Mexico, I'm apprehensive about how the Mexican-produced candy bars would be. They might have to name their new Mexican candy bars "Ex-Lax." _________________

I like Reese's PB Cups, but they're made by Hershey, so I didn't vote for them. As JP said, Hershey's going to be shipping jobs to Mexico. It's not future quality of the candy I'm not comfortable with, it's American and PA jobs being lost. I feel bad about poor Mexicans' plight, but not THAT bad.
If Twix are also made by Hershey now, change my vote to M & Ms. Bad Daze could simply hand out Snickers again...it's not like BDRob has to eat one with a dude or anything. _________________ Jesus Is a Hippie.

M&M's. I like Reese's better, but at a bar gig, I don't want hot chicks to have peanutbutter-breath, or me to have it around hot chicks, either. My breath isn't always the greatest.
Oh, and anyone who knows someone who works at the Boyer plant in Altoona knows why I wouldn't give out Mallo Cups. Bleccch.------>JMS |

What about Hershey's Kisses, or Hugs???? You can have lots of wordplay fun with those, and maybe even market some t-shirts. |

Well Rob I would prefer Reese's Peanut Butter Cups anyday of the week. One I will give you a clue not to chose is M&M's, If you think the snicker bar commercial is gay have you ever took a minute to think of the M&M slogan, Melts in your mouth not in your hand. That just sounds straight up kinky to me!!! |

I put in a vote for M&Ms but if its down to Twix or Kit Kat, I"m probably leaning mor towards the Twix.
but hell...I'm all for chocolate in general, the specifics aren't generally as important _________________ Worth dying for. Worth killing for. Worth going to hell for. Amen. |

UPDATE! We're back to Snickers despite the gayness of the commercial.
Thank you for you input.

Well, as a wise man once said, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Everything felt right once the Snicker's were brought back into the fold. _________________ "He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film. |

STEP ONE:
Buy a shit ton of the small size candy bars.
Probably about 200 which would run about....
$20.00 (10 per pack. $1.00 per pack)
Don't go with just one though. Buy a variety
of bars.
STEP TWO:
Buy some PVC piping and make a canon.
Basically make a potato gun but a lot wider.
Use a butterfly valve and an air tank instead
of a flammable gas(unless you like to have fun).
Put some sort of light weight stopper behind the
candy bars so that when you flip the butterfly
valve the air from the tank pushes the stopper
which forces the candy bars out of the barrel
and then they rain down on the crowd.
That is the best advice I can give you.
Good luck! _________________ Via Con Dios, Vomitar. |
