Johnstown area drummer seeks professional minded members for new tribute project.

The skinny: I’m 26, with 10+ years of playing experience and have been in the local radio business for just about as long. My radio history includes work at WQKK 92.1 The Rock, WGLU Power 99.1, WRRK 96.9 in Pittsburgh, WCCL Cool 101.7. No stranger to the music industry. I have a degree in Business Management. No stranger to marketing, promoting, and making things happens. I’ve studied with some of the area’s best drummers. With me, it’s only the best pro gear, look and attitude. I can play Rock, Funk, Jazz, Soul, Pop, Blues etc. all day long. Simply put: looking to start the next big thing.

I have some new, fresh, innovative ideas, but I need your help. The local music scene is getting stagnant. It’s time for something new to come along and make some waves. Any ideas? Do you feel the same? Are you sick of playing the same 30 tired Classic Rock/80’s hits for 25 people in the crowd who could care less if you dropped dead on stage? Tired of working your rear end off at a gig for $45 per person? Me too. Tired of seeing/hearing about the same 5 bands week after week after week? Ready to do something about it?

Many complain about the situation, but very few are ready to act. There is still plenty of money to be made, and plenty of nice venues to be played. I want to make money. I want to make music. I want to create, market, and sustain one of the area’s premier bands. It has to be the right people, the right material, and the right approach. If you’re hungry like me, let’s talk. Better yet: let’s do.

Thanks for the response and interest guys and girls! The Arcadia in Windber sells out every time they have a tribute act. The Eagles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin (recently at UPJ) Bruce Springsteen, Motown reviews, etc. all sell out. No one is doing this locally. They pay people to drive half way across the country for a three hour gig.

Why not a local tribute act? What tribute band do you think would fly in Johnstown? Thanks again for everyone's input...can't wait to get more responses. Happy holidays all!!

sent you a couple quick vocal samples. been doin it since 17. can do ac/dc, soundgarden, and zepplin higher stuff and johnny cash and bing crosby lows.

have pa.

I write originals and enjoy recording too. have gear for that too.

one thing, people around here would see you once or twice, then not any more regularly for a tribute band, you would have to tour around like the others do. and hearing you are local they wouldn't pay the same amount, thinking you arent as good as you aren't an out of town touring group the couple times they might see you.

This is a great opportunity to do something 'outside the box' with a great drummer.

BUMP.
