Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the February 6 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

It was Super Bowl Sunday, and while yours truly was off watching the game, the Q94 2005 Calendar Girls took over the show this week for the annual “Super Bowl Widow’s Special.” Thanks to both Stephanie’s, Teresa, Jen, Cortnie, Barb, Jamie and Michelle for minding the fort, and sharing with listeners music from some of their favorite area bands and artists. Along the way, they introduced new tunes from The Marauders, Silver Sunday and Todd Hinkle, and also some live show footage from Hair Force One.

Here is this week’s playlist:

HOUR ONE:

THE CLARKS – “Born Too Late”
NORMAN NARDINI – “Love Dog”
FLIGHT 19 – “Hands”
THIRD STANDARD – “14 Days in a Bender”
THE MARAUDERS – “My Revolver”
FELIX & THE HURRICANES – “Walking A Straight Line”
ACID REFLUX – “Spirit High”
SOUND DRIVEN – “Tears”
VS. THE EARTH – “Friend Zone”
POPTART MONKEYS – “7:30”
SILVER SUNDAY – “Cathedral Lights”
THE FLAME SKY – “Only In Your Head”

HOUR TWO:

THE BADLEES – “Don’t Let Me Hide”
STERLING KOCH – “Jam Back at the House”
HAIR FORCE ONE – “Sweet Child O’ Mine”
FUNNY MONEY – “You Rub Me the Right Way”
BACKSTREET LAW – “Right Here Right Now”
EMILY’S TOYBOX – “I’m the Bomb”
ROADKILL – “Lost in the Woods”
HI-TYDE – “You Lied”
TODD HINKLE – “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”
MATT WAGNER – “40 Days and 40 Nights”
THE NIGHTCRAWLERS – “African Echo”

This coming Sunday night, our guest via phone will be Sterling Koch. Last spring, Sterling – the singer and guitarist for the V.I.H. Blues Band – was diagnosed with a herniated disc in the back of his neck, caused by 30 years of wearing a heavy guitar around his neck. Not wishing to re-aggravate the painful injury, Sterling abandoned conventional guitar playing to learn steel guitar last summer. Sterling recorded a new album to showcase his newly-learned skills, “How I Spent My Summer Vacation: The Sacred Steel Sessions, Vol. I.” Sterling will tell his story and discuss his new album and music, and we’ll hear songs from the album. We’ll also update “Local Music News,” and review a new local/regional CD in the “Professor’s CD Corner.” Sterling Koch speaks with us this Sunday night, on the “Backyard Rocker!”

Forthcoming guests and specials include:

FEB. 20 – Rick Ramsey & friends
