Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the August 12 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

For this week, we revisited the mailboxes to explore new recordings that have arrived at "Homegrown Rocker" headquarters in recent weeks, and thus debuted some new music on the program! Along the way, we debuted new songs from We Came From Space, Honeydiu, The Clarks, Ted McCloskey & Molly Countermine, Donnie Iris, The Lampshades, Phobos Anomaly and The Bloody Seamen. We also updated "Local Music News," dug a 1994 song by State College's Man Alive from the archive for a "Local Music Flashback," stepped "Across State Lines" to hear a track from Albany, New York rockers Hasty Page, and reviewed Andy Mowatt's Steely Jam's Vol. I: Rock Hard Funk CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

MEDUSA'S DISCO - "State of Mind"
JIM DONOVAN & THE SUN KING WARRIORS - "You Are My Everything"
WE CAME FROM SPACE - "Eye to Eye"
CELL 15 - "Manny's Gone Home"
HONEYDIU - "Lagoon/Soda Beach"
STERLING KOCH - "Funk It"
THE CLARKS - "Dying to Live"
CHRIS RATTIE & THE NEW REBELS - "Prisoner 743"
TED McCLOSKEY & MOLLY COUNTERMINE - "Hungry Ghost"
STEVE BROSKY - "Johnny Corporation"

HOUR TWO:

NAILDRIVER - "Seal the Exits"
LADY - "It's About Time"
DONNIE IRIS - "Pittsburgh Made"
ANDY MOWATT'S STEELY JAM - "Full Blouse"
THE LAMPSHADES - "Civilization and Its Discontents"
MAN ALIVE - "Take Away" (1994, Local Music Flashback)
HASTY PAGE - "Color Blind" (Across State Lines)
PHOBOS ANOMALY - "Reassembly"
THE BLOODY SEAMEN - "I Want Nothing"
TUKURPA - "Leprechaun"

We hook up with band guests on our next program, as we meet up with western PA musical adventurers We Came From Space! We'll meet the current lineup and find out their latest happenings, plus check out tracks from their new album, While You Were Away! We will also update "Local Music News," dig into the archive for another "Local Music Flashback," and review MFG's Is There Life After Rock? CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

Upcoming guests and specials include:

SEPT. 9 - Whiskey Pie
SEPT. 23 - On The Brink
SEPT. 30 - Gordon Tittsworth (Images Of Eden)
