Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the May 26 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

Since it was Memorial Day weekend, we followed with tradition and featured the 2019 installment of the "Homegrown Rocker" Memorial Day Special! We took our annual stroll down 'Local Music Memory Lane,' and spotlighted two hours' worth of songs from past local and regional bands and artists, from popular area bands and songs to short-lived and more obscure performers! We dug through vinyl records, cassettes, reel tapes and CD's to feature area music from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s! We also pulled out a 1993 number from an out-of-state band who frequented local and regional stages - New York rockers Ice Water Mansion - for a flashback from "Across State Lines." And we paid homage to a few area musicians who are no longer with us.
