Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the June 2 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

We returned to the mailboxes on this week's program, and checked out new recordings that have arrived in recent weeks. As always, that meant a lot of new music hit the "Homegrown Rocker" airwaves - we debuted new tunes from One of the Bigs, The Inner Urge, Doug Forshey, Silver Lights, Iron Wolf, Private I and DopplerPoppins! Along the way, we updated "Local Music News," dug a 1998 tune by State College's 3D Betty from the archive for a "Local Music Flashback," stepped "Across State Lines" to hear music from Baltimore's Silvertung (who played at The Arena in State College the night before) and reviewed The Dark Country's Kill Clock CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

INSIDE OUT - "Unbreakable"
SILVER SCREEN - "Talk to Me"
ONE OF THE BIGS - "Move Out of Town"
GABE STILLMAN - "No Time for Me"
THE INNER URGE - "The Wheelbarrow"
FELIX & THE HURRICANES - "Whirlwind" (live)
DOUG FORSHEY - "Sweet Mountain Flowers"
MAMA CORN - "Goodbye Comfort Home"
SILVER LIGHTS - "Hedgehog Dilemma"
PURE CANE SUGAR - "Box N Nails"
POP THIEF - "Grip"

HOUR TWO:

SKELL - "Everything's Fine"
IRON WOLF - "Iron Wolf"
PRIVATE I - "Totality"
THE DARK COUNTRY - "Killer"
DOPPLERPOPPINS - "Release"
3D BETTY - "Thistle Time" (1998, Local Music Flashback)
SILVERTUNG - "Deja Vu"
FYRE - "Back to the Past"
HATE GRENADE - "The King Is Dead"
44MAG - "50 Miles"

Joining us on our next program will be special guest Luke Cimbala! An area musician, Luke recently morphed his band project, The Band Junkies, into a website and web resource to serve the State College area music community! Listen as Luke discusses Band Junkies and its services, and we'll hear music from some of the bands and artists Luke has worked with via Band Junkies! Along the way, we will update "Local Music News," dig a tune from a past area band or artist from the archive for a "Local Music Flashback," and review Kristi Jean and Her Ne'er Do Wells' Country-Billy Collision in "The Professor's CD Corner!" And you will have an opportunity to win one of two tickets to see the "Acres of Music: The Music of Woodstock" concert and fundraiser happening on June 15 at State College's State Theatre! Listen to the "Homegrown Rocker" Memorial Day Special, Sunday night (June 2) at 8 p.m. on 105.9 Qwik-Rock on your FM radio dial, or stream it live online at www.1059qwikrock.com!
