Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the February 23 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

We welcomed band guests into our studio this week, as Tom, Z and Ed of State College-based musical adventurers Gelatinous Cube joined us! We met the members and learned their story, and explored their unique brand of music that ties together elements of progressive, indie rock, jazz, international flavors and more! And we played several studio and live tracks from the group! Along the way, we debuted a new song from Black Ridge plus stepped "Across State Lines" to hear music from former area musician (now living in North Carolina) Eric Biter, and we dug a 1995 song by Eric's former band Delirium from the archive for this week's "Local Music Flashback!" And we reviewed Jelli's Jelli With an I CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

HYBRID ICE - "Faith Without Works"
LOWJACK - "When You Were Mine"
GELATINOUS CUBE - "Technicolor Dreams"
BLACK RIDGE - "New Day"
GELATINOUS CUBE - "Here and Now"
CHRIS VIPOND & THE STANLEY STREET BAND - "Art Becomes Life"
GELATINOUS CUBE - "Clockwork"
ERIC BITER - "485" (Across State Lines)

HOUR TWO:

MEDUSA'S DISCO - "Twisted Dentist"
WE CAME FROM SPACE - "How to Be Human"
GELATINOUS CUBE - "Ocean of Blood"
JELLI - "D'Evil"
GELATINOUS CUBE - "Not for Me to Say"
DELIRIUM - "Life" (1995, Local Music Flashback)
GELATINOUS CUBE - "Night Train to Shymkent"
WINE OF NAILS - "Fit Right In"

On our next program, we'll be joined via phone by York-based singer and songwriter Callie Tomblin! Callie recently released her second CD, Who I Am - she'll share her thoughts about her career, her new music and the creation of the album, and we'll hear songs from it as well! Along the way, we will update "Local Music News," dig a "Local Music Flashback" from the archive, and review Alyssa Hankey's American Spirit CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!" Listen to the "Homegrown Rocker," this Sunday night (March 1) at 8 p.m. on 105.9 Qwik-Rock on your FM radio dial, or stream it live online at www.1059qwikrock.com!
