Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the March 29 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

With no guests this week, we took the opportunity to plunge into the mailboxes once again and check out new local and regional recordings that have arrived in recent weeks. Thus, we debuted lots of new music, including new songs from Chip & the Charge Ups, My Hero Zero, The Dead End Streets, Jelli, Pieces Of Reason, The Snipped, Savage Bliss, Yigga Digga, Scarlet Moon, Kali Ma and the Garland of Arms, On The Brink and Roadkill! Along the way, we dug a 1998 song from western PA's Friday's Child from the archive for our "Local Music Flashback," and stepped "Across State Lines" to check out a tune from Washington, DC's daMOOD!

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

MATT OTIS & THE SOUND - "Give Me Something Real"
THE CLARKS - "The Longest One Night Stand"
CHIP & THE CHARGE UPS - "The Tide Is High"
PRIVATE I - "Totality"
MY HERO ZERO - "Give It to Me"
BLACK RIDGE - "Celebration"
THE DEAD END STREETS - "The Time Has Come"
JELLI - "Bailar"
PIECES OF REASON - "Be the Man"
GELATINOUS CUBE - "Clockwork"
THE SNIPPED - "The Mine"
RIK GOLDEN - "Something Else in Mind"

HOUR TWO:

SAVAGE BLISS - "If I Were the Devil/Wicked"
YIGGA DIGGA - "The Opus"
SCARLET MOON - "Bloody Skies"
KALI MA AND THE GARLAND OF ARMS - "Medicate-Meditate"
ON THE BRINK - "Visual Empathy"
FRIDAY'S CHILD - "Top of the World" (1998, Local Music Flashback)
daMOOD - "Ra Sunshine" (Across State Lines)
RAILROAD CITY MURDER MACHINES - "Butcher"
ROADKILL - "Shut Your Wh*** Mouth"
STERLING KOCH - "Last Call"

Due to some recent shifting around of our show schedule, we suddenly had an open week to feature guests, and guests stepped up to conveniently fill the void - for our next program, we will be joined via phone by members of Pittsburgh rockers Chip & the Charge Ups! We'll learn about the band and their history, plus hear tunes from their brand new CD, Lightning in Our Veins! Along the way, we will update "Local Music News," dig a "Local Music Flashback" from the archive, and review Yigga Digga's No Limiter CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!" Listen to the "Homegrown Rocker," this Sunday night (April 5) at 8 p.m. on 105.9 Qwik-Rock on your FM radio dial, or stream it live online at www.1059qwikrock.com!

Upcoming guests and specials:

APR. 12 - ROADKILL
APRIL 19 - MATTHEW DEWEESE (ALTOONA MUSIC SCENE)
APRIL 26 - HUXLEY (MMC drawing winner)
MAY 24 - MEMORIAL DAY SPECIAL

(All dates are subject to changes as circumstances warrant.)

Bands and artists wanting to submit news items for "Local Music News" may email their news to homegrownrocker@gmail.com. Indicate "MUSIC NEWS" in the subject heading!

Bands and artists interested in having music aired on the show are invited to send their broadcast-quality recordings to: Magnum Broadcasting, 100 High Street, Port Matilda, PA 16870; ATTN: Jim Price/Homegrown. Or drop the recordings off at the station during regular business hours, Monday-Friday 9 AM to 5 PM. You can also email digital song files or inquiries about the show to homegrownrocker@gmail.com.
