Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the September 12 edition of "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Q94 Classic Rock!

It was back to the mailboxes on this week's program, as we checked out new recordings from area bands and artists that arrived in recent days! We debuted lots of new music; giving first airplay to new songs by Bree Gearhart, Devin Sherman, Jeff Perigo & Friends, The Arts, Black Ridge, Dilemma, Beauty Slap, Zach Wade & the Good Grief, Mediocre Gatsby and August Winters! In addition, we updated "Local Music News," dug into the archive for a 1997 number by Box for this week's "Local Music Flashback," stepped "Across State Lines" to hear a new tune from Michigan's The Accidentals, and reviewed A.D. 2020's Lockdown Diaries album in "The Professor's CD Corner!" (For those who missed the program, a four-part podcast of this show is available for listening or download from Q94's website, www.q94classicrock.com. Click on "The Professor's Classroom," and then scroll down to "Homegrown Rocker Podcast" and look for the four show segments marked with the date, 091221.)

In Local Music News...

The organizers of the annual “Patched Together: A Day of Music to Benefit the Healing Patch” benefit have announced that they have decided to hold the event as a virtual event again this year, out of an abundance of caution for the safety of the show's attendees. Details about the online concert event and other fundraisers will be announced shortly. Since 2011, Patched Together has raised over $100,000 to ensure that grief services remain available to young people in the central PA community who needs them.

After issuing four albums over the past year and a half in his Lost Season Sessions series, Ted McCloskey has compiled 24 songs from those albums into a compilation CD being sold at his live shows. Simply called The Lost Season Sessions, the album also combines portions of the artwork from all four of the individual Lost Seasons Sessions albums.

The area music scene is mourning the passing of musician Glenn Roub on September 1. He was 80. Glenn was a long-time performer who loved to share his music. His career involved traveling and performing, and he entertained on local stages in such band projects as The Country Travelers and Midnight Cowboy. Glenn also frequented local open mics and jam nights in recent years to sing and share his talents on keys and acoustic guitar. We at the “Homegrown Rocker” share our sympathies with Glenn's family, friends and musical colleagues.

That's a look at “Local Music News.” Bands and artists with news items to report on the program may email their information to homegrownrocker@gmail.com.
