Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the October 10 edition of "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Q94 Classic Rock!

We continued to check out new recordings from the area music scene that have arrived in recent days during this week's program. We debuted new tunes from Randall Pink, Justin Garman, Shawn Diveglia, Alpha Violet, and The Spyders. In addition, we updated "Local Music News," dug into the archive for a 1997 tune by Pittsburgh rockers Isotope, stepped "Across State Lines" to hear from southern Florida steel guitar specialist Roosevelt Collier, and reviewed Endbringer's The Victim Has Been Chosen album in "The Professor's CD Corner!" (For those who missed the program, a four-part podcast of this show is available for listening or download from Q94's website, www.q94classicrock.com. Click on "The Professor's Classroom," and then scroll down to "Homegrown Rocker Podcast" and look for the four show segments marked with the date, 101021.)

In Local Music News...

The Central Pennsylvania Music Hall Of Fame is now accepting nominations for consideration for the third annual Central Pennsylvania Music Awards, which will be presented early next year. Nominations can be submitted either by commenting on the category-specific Instagram or Facebook post, or by emailing it to cpmhof@gmail.com. The focus for submissions should be on what the band or artist accomplished in 2021, such as releasing an album, opening for national recording acts, playing high-profile shows or other noteworthy accomplishments. Music fans may nominate their favorites, and artists are encouraged to nominate themselves as well. The deadline for nominations is this Friday, October 15. For more information, visit the website www.cpmhof.com/awards.

And we're sad to report the recent passing of a prominent drummer from the Lancaster area. Oscar “Oz” Christ passed away on September 26. He was 48. Oz played with many bands and projects, and recorded music with many as well. Among the projects Oz was involved with was area musician Michael Hughes' original music endeavor The Worry Knot.
