Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the October 17 edition of "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Q94 Classic Rock!

The influx of new music arriving in our mailboxes has been brisk lately, so we again spent this week checking out those new recordings on our program! Receiving their first spins on the program this week were tunes from Jackson Monsour, The Worry Knot, Casey Walton, Bree Gearhart, Alec Henderson, the Derek Woods Band, Kali Ma & the Garland of Arms and Scattered Hamlet. In addition, we dug into the archive for a 2006 tune by Pittsburgh punk rockers Gasoline Dion, stepped "Across State Lines" to hear from St. Louis, Missouri's Three Fourths Francis, and reviewed Ted McCloskey's The Victim Has Been Chosen album in "The Professor's CD Corner!" (For those who missed the program, a four-part podcast of this show is available for listening or download from Q94's website, www.q94classicrock.com. Click on "The Professor's Classroom," and then scroll down to "Homegrown Rocker Podcast" and look for the four show segments marked with the date, 101721.)

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

DONNY BURNS & THE 3RD DEGREE - "Out of Dodge"
POST TRAUMATIK - "Running Wild"
JACKSON MONSOUR - "One Way"
JAE SMITH - "Miss Communication"
THE WORRY KNOT - "Where Is My Mind" (Pixies cover, in memory of Oz Christ)
CASEY WALTON - "Wishin' For"
BREE GEARHART - "Dark Cloud"
COLTT WINTER LEPLEY - "City Livin'" (performed live on the air 1/10/21)
THE JADED LIPS - "Jealous Eyes"
ANDY McLAUGHLIN - "Prideland"
ALEC HENDERSON - "Lasers in the Night"
NATE GATES - "Long As I Got a Window"

HOUR TWO:

SOURMASH - "Mr. Mayhem"
CHRIS BELL - "Paycheck to Paycheck"
DEREK WOODS BAND - "Happiness"
TED McCLOSKEY - "Nurse Without a Name"
KALI MA & THE GARLAND OF ARMS - "Sun Wrap"
GASOLINE DION - "Pickle Farm" (2006, Local Music Flashback)
THREE FOURTHS FRANCIS - "Trailer Trash" (Across State Lines)
13 SAINTS - "New York Doll"
SCATTERED HAMLET - "Stereo Overthrow"
ABOVE THE RADAR - "Ride"
ANTHROPHOBIA - "Technical Difficulties"
SPINEBELT - "Lotus Under Glass"

For our next show, we were to have guests, as members of Altoona-based rock band legends The Front were to join us to discuss their upcoming final farewell concert. But after unforeseen developments within the band forced that concert's cancellation, The Front won't be on the program and we'll continue our exploration of more new area recordings that have arrived in recent days! In addition, we will update "Local Music News," dig into the archive for a "Local Music Flashback," step "Across State Lines" to hear a new tune by an out-of-state independent band or artist, and review Casey Walton's This Town album in "The Professor's CD Corner!" Hear the "Homegrown Rocker" this Sunday night (October 24) on Q94 Classic Rock - 94.3 FM and online at www.q94classicrock.com!
