Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the April 3 edition of "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Q94 Classic Rock!

This week, we welcomed musical guests back into our studio, as Zac Grace and one of his guitarists, Ben Eberhart, joined us! We learned about Zac's solo career, his work in and out of Nashville, and discussed his music; we heard two of Zac's recorded songs, and he and Ben played three tunes live in the studio for us! In addition, we debuted a new song from Infused, updated "Local Music News," dug a 2005 number by Zac's former band, Fayted, from the archive for a "Local Music Flashback," and reviewed Rodger Delany's Before I Let Go album in "The Professor's CD Corner!" (For those who missed the program, a four-part podcast of this show is available for listening or download from Q94's website, www.q94classicrock.com. Click on "The Professor's Classroom," and then scroll down to "Homegrown Rocker Podcast" and look for the four show segments marked with the date, 040322.)

Here is this week's playlist:

FAYTED - "Beaches" (2005, Local Music Flashback)
ZAC GRACE & BEN EBERHART - "Only Here for a Beer" (live in the studio)

On our next program, we again welcome guests into our studio, as members of Indiana/Punxsutawney area country performers 7 Mile Run will join us! After developing into a popular live act during the past few years, 7 Mile Run is working on recording songs toward an eventual release, and we'll discuss and hear some of those songs - plus discuss the group's career, live show and more! We'll also update "Local Music News," pull another "Local Music Flashback" from the archive, and review Gabe Stillman's "Just Say the Word" album in "The Professor's CD Corner!" Hear the "Homegrown Rocker" this Sunday night (April 10) on Q94 Classic Rock - 94.3 FM and online at www.q94classicrock.com!

In Local Music News...

Post Traumatik announced that they now have a new drummer, as Tyler Sprankle takes over behind the kit, replacing Gregg Shotts. Tyler will make his official debut with Post Traumatik next month during the Millvale Music Festival in Pittsburgh.

A change for popular State College-based horn band The Gill Street Band. After filling in for singer Jackie Brown for almost a year, Joy Marie will take over singing duties with the Gill Street Band on a full-time basis, and the group will now be known as Joy Marie and the Gill Street Band. The Gill Street Band’s next scheduled show will be on June 5 at the South Hills School of Business and Technology in State College.

Western PA-based singer and songwriter Alyssa Hankey has announced the release date for her new album. The album, called Northerner, will be officially released on April 22. The album will feature eight songs, with Alyssa backed by a full band. Musicians performing on the album include Chris Belin of the Derek Woods Band, Alec Zander Redd, Jake Horwat, Buddy Rieger and Jane West.

And some sad news to report from the area music scene with the passing of longtime Johnstown musician Gordon “Gordy” Haluska, who passed from brain cancer on March 28 at age 66. Gordy was well-liked, as he enjoyed singing and playing his guitar with friends at local venues around Cambria County.
