Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the July 31 edition of "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Q94 Classic Rock!

Thanks to our guest, Dave Mayersky, for joining us via phone to discuss the upcoming Upstage Music Fest, happening August 12 and 13 at the Clearfield County Fairgrounds! We learned details about the fest and the artist line-up, and we featured music from several of the bands performing during the event. We also debuted new songs from Inside Out and Halestorm, updated "Local Music News," and dug a 2001 tune from E.S. Whitefisch from the archive for a "Local Music Flashback!" (For those who missed the program, a four-part podcast of this show is available for listening or download from Q94's website, www.q94classicrock.com. Click on "The Professor's Classroom," and then scroll down to "Homegrown Rocker Podcast" and look for the four show segments marked with the date, 073122.)

Here is this week's playlist:

THE SNIPPED - "The Mine"
AFRAID OF HUMAN - "Through the Lies"
INSIDE OUT - "Kiss of Death"
NEGAN - "The Devil's Coming"

MADBALL - "Rev Up"
ABSTENTIOUS - "Whatever Lets You Sleep at Night"
POST TRAUMATIK - "Night of the Mothman"
9 SUNDAYS - "You"

HOUR TWO:

SMALL TOWN TITANS - "The Ride"

DOCTOR SMOKE - "These Horrid Things"
ALMOST HONEST - "Dancing Shaman and the Psychedelic Cactus"
THE HEATHEN PARADE - "Diesel Jesus"

On our next program, we'll raid the mailboxes once again to find out what new area recordings have arrived in recent days - meaning that lots of new music will debut on the program! Hear new tunes from The Semi-Supervillains, Infused, Jon Osman, Yigga Digga, Marshmellow Overcoat, the Jukehouse Bombers, Blood Union, Threshold Of Insanity and more! We'll also update "Local Music News," present a special "Local Music Flashback" spotlight on J.R. Mangan, and review The Stone Eye's South Of The Sun album in "The Professor's CD Corner!" Hear the "Homegrown Rocker" this Sunday night (August 7) on Q94 Classic Rock - 94.3 FM and online at www.q94classicrock.com!

The lineup has been set for this year's return of “Pickin’ For Wishes,” the bluegrass fundraiser held to raise money and awareness for the Make A Wish Foundation of Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The festival, which didn't happen in 2020 or 2021 due to COVID-19, will take place on Saturday, August 20 at the Cresson Sportsmen's Club, and will feature performances from Mama Corn, The Hillbilly Gypsies, Hickory Bottom Band, Centerfire Bluegrass and Tree. The music starts at 11:30 a.m. Food and craft vendors, giveaways and children's activities will be available. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the gate, and children under 12 are admitted free with a paying adult.

The lineup has been announced for the Vets Fest 2022 event, which happens on Sunday, August 14 outdoors at Altoona's Unter Uns Musical & Entertainment Society. Performing will be the Backyard Rockers, The Stiffs, Bone Jacked, Felix & the Hurricanes and Autumn Rising. The music kicks off at 1 p.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Vietnam Veterans of America Blair County Chapter 967, who help out veterans throughout the Blair County region. No tickets will be sold, but donations will be accepted at the door.

Dubois-based rockers DTK have a new guitarist, as Tommy Raab replaces Matt Day in the lineup. Tommy will also continue to be a member of Roadkill, who is currently on a brief hiatus.
