Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the December 4 edition of "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Q94 Classic Rock!

Early in the program, we announced that the "Homegrown Rocker" can now be heard on another station in the Lightner Communications broadcast family starting this night, as you can now hear the program from 10 p.m. to midnight on 107.1 and 101.3 Jack FM! If you're in the Johnstown vicinity, you can now hear the program on Jack FM's 101.3 signal, and you can stream the show live on Jack's website, www.1071jack.fm!

We welcomed back a familiar guest to this week's program, as Images Of Eden's lead singer, Gordon Tittsworth, joined us via phone! Images Of Eden recently finished opening concerts across the country as part of German guitar legend Michael Schenker's 50th Anniversary tour! Gordon shared his thoughts and memories about the tour, updated us on the latest Images Of Eden happenings, and we checked out tracks from the group's recently-issued EP, Weathered and Torn. We also debuted a new song from Spinning Jenny, updated "Local Music News," dug out a 1993 number from The Grimm for this week's "Local Music Flashback," and reviewed Burn The Martyr's Blasphemy album in "The Professor's CD Corner!" (For those who missed the program, a four-part podcast of this show is available for listening or download from Q94's website, www.q94classicrock.com. Click on "The Professor's Classroom," and then scroll down to "Homegrown Rocker Podcast" and look for the four show segments marked with the date, 120422.)

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

BLACK RIDGE - "You'll Never Stop This Machine"
BLOOD UNION - "Suffocate"
IMAGES OF EDEN - "Count to Zero"
ETERNAL FREQUENCY - "War"
IMAGES OF EDEN - "Survivor's Guilt"

THE GRIMM - "Raise the Line" (1993, Local Music Flashback)

For our next program, we'll pay one more official visit to the show's mailboxes for 2022, and check out a number of new local and regional recordings that have arrived in recent weeks! We will debut new holiday season numbers from The Badlees and East Coast Turnaround, plus new songs from Blood Union, Ma'aM, Chrome Eyes, OK Otter, Cass & the Bailout Crew, Inside Out, Suburban Downgrade, Chip & the Charge-Ups, Light The Lamp and more! We will also update "Local Music News," dig a "Local Music Flashback" from the archive, and step "Across State Lines" to hear music from an independent band or artist from outside PA! Recent “Homegrown Rocker” guest, Johnstown-based Americana and folk musician Christian James, has announced that he will be joining western PA bluegrass group Well Strung as permanent lead guitar player.

And for the fourth year in a row, bands and musicians from throughout the Harrisburg area have donated their talents toward a compilation album to help out homeless and other vulnerable members of their community. The Joy to the Burg 2022 compilation album features 33 holiday season-themed numbers, including original songs and time-tested Christmas favorites. Some of the artists featured on this year's compilation include The Badlees, The Jellybricks, Peter Rogan, Shea Quinn, Leo DiSanto, area country artist Zac Grace and many more. The album is available as a digital download for $20, and proceeds go to Christian Churches United, a large group of Harrisburg area churches who help homeless people and families with housing, shelters and other needs. For more information or to purchase the album, visit the website joytotheburg.com.
