Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the December 18 edition of "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Q94 Classic Rock (www.q94classicrock.com), and from 10 PM to midnight on 107.1 and 101.3 Jack FM (www.1071jack.fm)!

For the final time in 2022, we welcomed musical guests into our studio, as members of Ebensburg-based rock and pop group Wanderlost visited the program! We met the band members and learned the group's story, explored their music and creative processes, and heard songs from singer and keyboardist Dustin Rainey's latest solo album, Foolish! We also debuted new songs from The Semi-Supervillains, Infused and Keith Randall; plus updated "Local Music News," dug out a 2004 number from Dustin and drummer Jason Olear's previous band project, Spoonchatter, for this week's "Local Music Flashback," and reviewed Teen Town's debut album, A Month of Sundays, in "The Professor's CD Corner!" (For those who missed the program, a four-part podcast of this show is available for listening or download from Q94's website, www.q94classicrock.com. Click on "The Professor's Classroom," and then scroll down to "Homegrown Rocker Podcast" and look for the four show segments marked with the date, 121822.)

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

LORDS A LEAPING - "The Bells of Christmas"
CONNER GILBERT - "Here's to the Days"
DUSTIN RAINEY - "Einstein"
THE SEMI-SUPERVILLAINS - "Living Stereo"
DUSTIN RAINEY - "Lost and Found"
INFUSED - "Please Don't Abandon Me"
DUSTIN RAINEY - "Fortune Teller"
OVERHEAD - "We Three Kings"
KEITH RANDALL - "Riviera Nights"

HOUR TWO:

DONNIE IRIS & THE CRUISERS - "We Wish You A Merry Christmas"
BLACK RIDGE - "Stick It Out"
DUSTIN RAINEY - "The Devil Drowns Them Out"
TEEN TOWN - "Self Defense"
DUSTIN RAINEY - "Dorothy"
SPOONCHATTER - "Rudy" (2004, Local Music Flashback)
DUSTIN RAINEY - "You Are the Best Thing"
THE JELLYBRICKS - "Father Christmas"

As our next program falls on Christmas Night, it is again time to present the 2022 installment of the "Homegrown Rocker" Christmas Special! We'll spotlight holiday season music from the local and regional music community - hearing area bands and artists' original holiday song creations, as well as their renditions of time-tested Christmas season favorites! We'll feature a number of new area music scene holiday music creations, as well as hear some familiar favorites (including that ever-popular ode to an ill-fated dartboard)! Hear the "Homegrown Rocker" this Sunday night (December 25) on Q94 Classic Rock - 94.3 FM and online at www.q94classicrock.com, and on 107.1 and 101.3 Jack FM, online at www.1071jack.fm!

The date for the next concert in Johnstown’s “Classic Vinyl Concert Series” has been announced. The next concert will take place on Saturday, March 18 at the State Theater of Johnstown. The albums and music that will be covered will be announced soon.

Jim Donovan & the Sun King Warriors have announced that they entered the studio on Wednesday to begin recording new music, which should be available in 2023.

And the area music scene was saddened in the past week following the death of longtime musician Jim High, who passed away on Monday (Dec. 12) at age 65. Jim made music with a number of Blair County-based bands going back to the 1980s, primarily as a bass player and guitarist. Jim was a member of such groups as Psycho, Rainbow City (with Louie Brumbaugh), Sidewinder, Different Mothers, Not Them Guys and others.
