Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the June 19 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

This week was our annual Father’s Day Special, as we celebrated the fathers, mothers, sons and daughters of local and regional music. We highlighted some of the numerous family connections on the regional music scene, identifying music scene dads and moms, and their musical offspring. Some songs featured parents, some songs featured musicians’ musical kids, and some songs showcased entire families! It provided a study of how musical talent is passed on from generation to generation. Along the way, we debuted new songs from Brianna Sheeder, Ed Rhoades and The Servello Family.

In addition, we aired a conversation with Rob Carolus and Paul Rainey of the band Bad Daze. Rob is the organizer of the “Helping Hands for Hastings” benefit concert, which takes place outside Davey’s Lounge in Hastings next Sunday, June 26. The all-ages concert will feature Bad Daze, Billy & the Inmates, Felix & the Hurricanes, Falling Higher, Flight 19, Gin & Juice, Atomic Blonde, Razen Kane, Roadkill and more. Admission/donation is $10; proceeds will benefit the families of the four victims of the tragic house fire in Hastings on May 14.

Here is this week’s playlist (highlighting the family members performing on each track):
