Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the May 25 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

Keeping with tradition, the "Backyard Rocker" took a trip down memory lane this holiday weekend with the annual Memorial Day Weekend Special. The first two hours of the program featured music from past bands of the local and regional music scene, including such curios as Altoona's Wicked Truth and their 1975 single "Take A Chance;" Wrathchild's "Danger Us" from 1985 (featuring a then-teenaged drummer named Shannon Larkin, now with national recording group Godsmack), Chilling Vision's 1988 epic "Random Incident" from a 1988 MJI metal compilation album, and more. Pulled from basement storage, some of the source tapes literally had mold and mildew on them! The third hour of our special paid homage to those area musicians we have lost along the way. Along the way, we also gave away several local music CD prize packs. It was three hours of local music memories!

This week's playlist (including the year each song is from; and during the third hour, the name of the musician being remembered):
