Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the June 8 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

Thanks to our guests, Tangerine, for making the roadtrip in from Pittsburgh to appear on the program. It was definitely worth their while - this past weekend was Q94's final "Harley Qualification Weekend" before we give away a Harley-Davidson Dyna Low Rider this coming Saturday, June 14. Since time was running out for listeners to qualify for the bike (947 qualifiers total are being entered into the drawing), many were poised by their radios and phones during the "Backyard Rocker," ready to call in and try to punch their ticket to next Saturday's drawing. In the process of listening for their cues to call in and qualify, the listening audience also was exposed to Tangerine and their brand of melodic, moody modern rock. We heard several tracks from the group's self-titled CD from last year; and the group performed several songs live, including several from their next release, expected out in August. We learned about Tangerine and their career to date, which has seen them perform from New York to Los Angeles, and even into Canada. Two lucky listeners qualified for Q94's Harley, and two more lucky listeners won copies of Tangerine's CD.

Along the way, we played new tunes from The Flame Sky, Dennis Fallon, Destroy Elroy, and The Bugs; and we flashed back to 1997 to remember Hollidaysburg's Tukker and their song "Kalico." It was an exciting and busy two hours!

This week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

FELIX & THE HURRICANES – “Spanish Rose (One for Carlos)”
THE FLAME SKY – “So Much Left Undone”
TANGERINE – “Elastic World”
CLOUD PARTY – “The Mansion On The Hill”
TANGERINE – “I Wanna Be Adored” (live)
DENNIS FALLON – “Better Than Me”
ELECTRIC CANDY SHOP – “Fallen”
TANGERINE – “The New Song” (live)
DESTROY ELROY – “Memories (Charlie’s Song)”

HOUR TWO:

THE BUGS – “Alcohol”
AXUM – “The Point”
TANGERINE – “My Life’s An Ocean” (live)
TANGERINE – “Take” (live)
TANGERINE – “24 Miles”
TUKKER – “Kalico” (1997, Local Music Flashback)
TANGERINE – “Changes”

This Sunday night, June 15, a special edition of the "Backyard Rocker" for Father's Day…"The Fathers & Sons/Daughters of Local Music" Special.
