Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the November 27 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

As promised, maximum local music was the norm this week on the “Backyard Rocker.” We had no guests this week, meaning more room to get caught up on a number of new local and regional releases that have made their way to the studios in recent weeks. We debuted new songs from Codorus Cruise Line, V.I.H. Blues Band, Ted McCloskey, Rik Golden, Crystal Cameron, Well Of Souls, Poptart Monkeys, Bo Bim, Red Room and Dragon Fire. We also updated Local Music News.

Here is this week’s playlist:

HOUR ONE:

THE MARAUDERS – “Last Call”
FAT VINNY & THE WISEGUYS – “Bad Men On The Run”
CODORUS CRUISE LINE – “Down That Alley”
V.I.H. BLUES BAND – “Let’s Work Together”
TED McCLOSKEY – “Jet Set Suffragette”
DOUG MACKIE’S DOCTOR’S OFFICE – “Less Affected”
RIK GOLDEN – “Brown Eye Mary”
FAYTED – “Blame Yourself”
VS. THE EARTH – “Carolina Sky” (live)
LORDS A LEAPING – “The Bells Of Christmas”
CRYSTAL CAMERON – “My All T You”
RHYNE McCORMICK – “Train”

HOUR TWO:

WAY DOWN EAST – “Modern Day Outlaws”
WIDE OPEN – “Polish My Chrome”
WELL OF SOULS – “Little Sister”
POPTART MONKEYS – “After Party”
BO BIM – “L”
THIRD STANDARD – “I”
RED ROOM – “The Little Things”
GRADE E – “Emmett”
CHOKING FAITH – “Porno Tongue”
DRAGON FIRE – “Unstoppable” (live)

Next Sunday night, our guest in the studio will be area singer, songwriter and guitarist Todd Hinkle. We’ll get acquainted with Todd, hear some recorded music from him, and he’ll bring along his guitar and do a song or two live on the air. We’ll also feature Local Music News and review a new local/regional CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner.” Todd Hinkle makes his first appearance, next Sunday night on the “Backyard Rocker!”

In Local Music News…

Congratulations to former State College and current Pittsburgh modern progressive rockers Kairos, who won an opening slot for Bon Jovi’s December 6 show at Pittsburgh’s Mellon Arena. Kairos was selected from over 100 bands in a national contest to win that honor. The Harrisburg-based band Condition K won an opening slot for Bon Jovi on December 2 at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, via the same national contest.

Another Toys for Tots benefit concert will be taking place next Friday night at Aldo’s in Juniata. The show will begin at 9 PM and feature the bands Second Offense, Suicide Switch and Choking Faith. The show will also mark the official release party for a new compilation album, Tribute To The Misfits, featuring several regional bands. Admission to the show will be a $5 donation or a new unopened toy of equal value.

The “Backyard Rocker” sends its speediest recovery wishes out to Flight 19 guitarist and area guitar legend John McKelvey. John is recuperating after suffering a mild heart attack earlier this week.
