Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the September 7 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

This week, we spotlighted a brand new benefit compilation CD, entitled “Rocksbury: {Musicians for Kids}.” The CD features music from several area bands, and proceeds from the CD's sales help out Dylan's Heart Fund, a special fund established to help out children with life-threatening conditions and their families. We spoke with several of the musicians involved with the CD, including project coordinator Denny Owens (whose late son, Dylan, was the inspiration for Dylan's Heart Fund), John Charney (White Mojo, Wine Of Nails), E. Vincent “Fat Vinny” Kelly (Fat Vinny & the Wiseguys) and Dave DiStefano. We heard numerous songs from the CD; and Denny, John and Dave jammed a live version of “Steamroller Blues” for us as well.

We also previewed next Saturday's “Q-Fest” benefit concert by playing music from all five of the bands scheduled to perform at this year's event.

This week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

THE MARAUDERS - “Roadkill”
ROADKILL - “RK2K2”
JOHN CHARNEY & WHITE MOJO - “Got My Mojo Workin'”
SOUND DRIVEN - “Tiff's Logic”
DAVE DiSTEFANO w/THE GRINNING MOB - “Light The Fire, Get Down”
FELIX & THE HURRICANES - “Walkin' a Straight Line”
FRANKIE & THE NOMADS - “Blues In The Key of I”

HOUR TWO:

HALESTORM - “It's Not You”
FAT VINNY & THE WISEGUYS - “Like A Mule”
JOHN CHARNEY & WHITE MOJO - “I Put A Spell On You”
FAT VINNY & THE WISEGUYS - “Folsom Prison Blues”
JOHN CHARNEY, DAVE DiSTEFANO & DENNY OWENS - “Steamroller Blues” (live)
WINE OF NAILS - “John Wayne Ethic”

On Sunday night, September 14, we will be joined in the studio by the Keystone All Stars. We will hear songs from the group's new CD, "Once…And Young;" and listeners will have chances to win a copy. Plus we'll speak with the band members about their brand of high-velocity blue collar rock'n'roll, live show and more. The Keystone All Stars return to the "Backyard Rocker," this Sunday night!
