Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the April 2 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

Thanks to our guests this week, Ledbetter Heights (www.ledbetterheights.com) for making the roadtrip in from Shippensburg to be on the program. We got acquainted with the four members of the group, and discussed their music, career, forthcoming studio album, fans and more. With the studio album not quite completed yet, Ledbetter Heights provided us with some recordings of the group performing live; plus they brought instruments and did two acoustic songs live on the air. We also updated Local Music News, and reviewed Dave Blackledge’s new album, Spread It On Thick, in “The Professor’s CD Corner.” (The review can be viewed on Q94’s website, www.wbxq.com, in the “Backyard Rocker” message board section.) And we debuted a new song from Grantham Road.

Here is this week’s playlist:

HOUR ONE:

MATT WAGNER – “Cycle”
VS. THE EARTH – “Friend Zone”
LEDBETTER HEIGHTS – “Forgive Me” (live)
RIK GOLDEN – “Brown Eye Mary”
LEDBETTER HEIGHTS – “Home” (live)
KIWI – “Emma Shake”
LEDBETTER HEIGHTS – “The Price” (performed live on the air)
GRANTHAM ROAD – “Wide Awake”

HOUR TWO:

WELL OF SOULS – “Gasoline”
FLIGHT 19 – “Hands”
LEDBETTER HEIGHTS – “Stop Running” (live)
DAVE BLACKLEDGE – “She’s Not Bad for an Old Bar Hag”
LEDBETTER HEIGHTS – “Your Secret’s Out” (live)
JOSA STEP – “Falling Down”
LEDBETTER HEIGHTS – “Home” (performed live on the air)
ZELAZOWA – “1,000 Smiles”

Next Sunday night, we’ll be joined by the Philadelphia-based band Zelazowa. Zelazowa is currently touring throughout the eastern U.S. in support of their debut album Rest Easy. We’ll meet the band members, discuss their music and career, plus hear tracks from the CD; and the group will bring acoustic instruments and perform some numbers live on the air! Zelazowa visits the “Backyard Rocker,” next Sunday night!

Forthcoming guests and specials include:

APR. 16 – Ken Gray

The Northern Cambria-based classic rock band Teepee Woody has reformed after several years out of action. The group now features singer and guitarist Jim Zemlock, bassist and singer Matt Dolges, and drummer and singer Bill Cunningham. The group is currently performing at Cambria County venues.

Changes for the Pottsville-based modern rock band Searching For Gladys. Singer Patrick Burke has announced that he is relocating to Florida, and is starting a new music project, called The Lettuce Pray Project. He will release a solo album under that title. The remaining three members of Searching For Gladys have hooked up with a singer named Damian, and have changed the band's name to Lights Over Ashfield. They are also in the process of recording an album.

A name change for the York-based rock band Texas Jerry; the group has changed their name to A State Of. The group released their new CD, Rhyme & Reason, this past weekend at a show in the York area.

Another band coming out with a new CD is Downingtown-based modern funk-rock band Kiwi, who have just released their third album, called Too Hot for Pepe. Still comprised of singer/bassist Lee Kendrick and singer/guitarist Ed Artz, Kiwi is gearing up to tour throughout the state in support of the new album this spring and summer.
