Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the April 16 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

It was a busy edition of the “Backyard Rocker” this week! Thanks to our guest this week, Northern Cambria-based singer, songwriter and guitarist Ken Gray, for coming in and sharing his musical world with us. A former member of acoustic duo Falling Higher, Ken now sings in a new band, Echo Chamber (formerly Act 64), which will be hitting stages soon. We discusses Ken’s career to date, and he performed a selection of covers and original songs live on the air.

We also aired an interview with Paul Rainey, the secretary of the Pennsylvania Citizen’s Awareness Group (PACAG). We discussed PACAG’s efforts to bring change to the existing noise provision of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code, and the organization’s campaign to encourage state legislators to change the existing rule to one more reasonable for the live music and entertainment industry. In addition, we reviewed Sherri Mullen’s latest album, On The Edge, in “The Professor’s CD Corner.” (The review can be viewed on Q94’s website, www.wbxq.com, in the “Backyard Rocker” message board section.) And we debuted new songs from Greg Joseph, Cloverleaf and The Illuminati.

Here is this week’s playlist:

HOUR ONE:

DAVE BLACKLEDGE – “Your Butt’s Too Fat to Dance Like That”
THUNDERBOX – “Tomorrow Will Arrive”
KEN GRAY – “My Own Prison” (performed live on air)
KEN GRAY – “I Say” (performed live on air)
GREG JOSEPH – “Porsches, Jesus and Jeans”
CLOVERLEAF – “Concrete Clarity”
KEN GRAY – “Fear of Falling” (performed live on air)
FELIX & THE HURRICANES – “Issues”

HOUR TWO:

SPOONCHATTER – “11:00 P.M.”
KEN GRAY – “Let Me Go” (performed live on air)
KEN GRAY – “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” (performed live on air)
THE ILLUMINATI – “Picture”
SHERRI MULLEN – “Modern Day Loving Family”
KEN GRAY – “Black” (performed live on air)
BACKSTREET LAW – “What’s Wrong With My Head”

Next Sunday night, our guests in the studio will be area favorites Silver Sunday! We’ll get reacquainted with the band members, discuss their career to date, and hear songs the group has recently recorded. Silver Sunday visits the “Backyard Rocker,” next Sunday night!

Forthcoming guests and specials include:

MAY 7 – Sherri Mullen
